2023 LIV Picks: Greenbrier Odds and Expert Betting Predictions

The LIV Golf Tour is back in action this week after a month break that saw many of the big names take part in the Open Championship. This week’s tournament takes place back in US soil for a stretch of three straight events in The States. The Greenbrier in West Virginia will play host this week, and the LIV standings are heating up down the stretch. Talor Gooch leads the standings with 137 individual points. Cam Smith is breathing down his neck with 130 total points. Brooks Koepka is sitting in third with 112 points, and Patrick Reed comes in fourth with 102 points. These four are the only players over 100 points, and the top-three players will earn bonuses at season's end. With just four events left after this week, these top-four players could be key when it comes to making money betting on this tour. We will look below at some of the best value bets for this weekend.

Course Characteristics of Those Who Can Win or Secure Winning Golf Bets

The Greenbrier opened in 1914 and was designed by Charles Blair Macdonald. The course measures in at 7,246 yards and plays at a par 70. It features tree-lined fairways and flat, well-protected greens. This is the first time that The Greenbrier will host a LIV event but has hosted The Greenbrier Classic on the PGA Tour from 2010-2019. This course rewards strong putters so approach and greens in regulation will be key this week to whoever wins this event.

Talor Gooch +1400

Gooch provides solid value at 14-1 with how well he has been playing this season. He has registered three victories in the 2023 LIV season after only winning once on the PGA Tour in 123 starts. Gooch leads the LIV Tour in points with 137 and he is coming off a 22nd-place finish in the last LIV event in London. Gooch is due to have another great three-day stretch and is worth a play at 14-1.

Patrick Reed +1600

Reed is the only player in the top five of the points standings without a victory this year and I believe this is the week he finally cashes in. In 2023, he has a second, third, fourth, and fifth place finish under his belt. The second-place finish came in his last outing in London where he lost to Cameron Smith who birdied the final hole for the victory. He has won nine times on the PGA Tour, including a Masters victory, so he is no stranger to competing on Sundays. This could be the week Reed takes home the trophy.

Cameron Tringale +2500

Tringale has been finding his form in his past three LIV events posting ninth, eighth, and eighth-place finishes. During the entire 2023 season, his worst finish has been 22nd and that came in the season opener. Since the opener, he has had four top-10 finishes, including those last three in a row, which has him in 12th place in the standings. I am backing Tringale to pick up his first LIV victory this week in West Virginia.
