2023 Oregon State futures: Beavers win totals and CFP odds

With the 2023 season just around the corner, it’s the perfect time for gamblers to look at college football futures bets.
Here are the 2023 Oregon State football odds as well as some different betting options.
2023 Oregon State win total prop: Over 8.5 wins (+130 or better)
Right now, Oregon State’s line for this upcoming season’s win total is Over 8.5 (+130)/Under 8.5 (-160).
This team has a legitimate shot at being a dark horse to win the conference. Head coach Jonathan Smith’s group improved mightily from 2021 to 2022, going from seven wins to 10 last year.
Expect that success from 2022 to continue in 2023.
Oregon State made a splash when it snagged former Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei in the transfer portal. He’ll compete with Ben Gulbranson, who went 7-1 behind center last season, for the starting gig.
Running back Damien Martinez flashed some potential last season and will be the top ball carrier this year. Martinez averaged 6.1 yards per carry, tallying 982 yards and seven touchdowns on the season.
Defense was a strong suit for the Beavers last year, too. Oregon State held opponents to 20 points per game, which ranked 16th nationally.
It will be tough to match that same production, as Oregon State lost a number of starters from that side of the ball, but it certainly won’t be the worst defense in the Pac-12 by any means.
The Beavers’ schedule is favorable, too -- Oregon State does not face USC, and its toughest opponents (Utah, UCLA and Washington) are all home games. Its toughest road contest will likely be Oregon in the regular-season finale.
It’s quite possible Oregon State enters that final game of the season with just one loss.

If the Beavers continue their momentum off a strong 2022 campaign, this team could find itself battling for a spot in the playoff.
But compared to some of the top teams in the country, Oregon State doesn’t look to be a playoff favorite any time soon.
A Pac-12 championship is well within the realm of possibility this season thanks to a favorable schedule and a strong team overall, but it would be a major step in Smith’s tenure to have gone from two wins in 2020 to a national champion in 2024.
