2023 PGA Picks: Sanderson Farms Championship Odds and Expert Betting Predictions

We are off to a roaring start for the fall portion of the PGA Tour. We were elated to cash in our Sahith Theegala ticket three weeks ago as he picked up his first career victory and followed that up with picking Team Europe in the Ryder Cup over the weekend. Readers who have put 1-unit on every golf prediction in the fall are sitting at a cushy +1500 entering October.

Now we head to Mississippi for the Sanderson Farms Championship at the Country Club of Jackson. There is also much more on the line in the fall for players looking to solidify their eligibility for the 2024 season. A victory during the fall will earn a two-year Tour exemption, 500 FedEx Cup points, entry to the season-opening Sentry and the Players Championship, as well as eligibility into majors that have invited Tour winners in the past. Course Characteristics of Those Who Can Win or Secure Winning Golf Bets

The Sanderson Farms Championship has been annually held on the PGA Tour since 1968. It was hosted at several courses before moving to its current home in 2014, the Country Club of Jackson. The course is a standard par 72, with four par threes, 10 par fours, and four par fives. The Country Club of Jackson might be the flattest and straightest golf course on the Tour. Last year, it ranked 27th out of 41 courses in difficulty.

Stephan Jaeger +1600

Jaeger might be the most well-rounded player in Jackson, Mississippi, this week despite a 45th-place finish at the Fortinet Championship three weeks ago. He ranks 13th in strokes gained off the tee, third in strokes gained around the green on Bermuda-grass, 20th in proximity 200 yards plus, 21st in opportunities gained, sixth in par five scoring, seventh in birdies or better gained, and fourth tee to green on Bermuda courses. His 45th-place finish at Fortinet is a little deceiving because of a poor putting weekend. He gained 2.2 strokes off the tee and 3.1 strokes on approach in Napa. Look for Jaeger to contend this weekend in Mississippi.

Eric Cole +2000

Cole is certainly one of the three best players in this field. The clubhouse leader for Rookie of the Year has chased in 11 straight starts going back four months of play. The highlight of this stretch run occurred three weeks ago at the Fortinet Championship where he led the field in SG: Tee-to-Green for a solo fourth-place finish. His skill-set revolves around solid approach play and an above average putter, which is a recipe for success this weekend in Jackson.

Emiliano Grillo +2500

Grillo headed to the finish line of last season, making a solid run in the playoffs that ended with a T-29 at the Tour Championship. He has finished in the top-20 in three of his last five events and has never finished worse than T-39 in Jackson out of four trips, including a T-5 last year. Do not be surprised if Grillo stands victorious on Sunday.
