Two teams that were forecasted to serve as NBA title contenders are heading in opposite directions as February comes to a close, and we're offering our top 76ers vs. Celtics player props based on the best NBA odds.
Both the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics were expected during the preseason to be among the favorites by the NBA Finals odds, but only the latter is a front-runner.
Philadelphia has been dealing with various injuries throughout the campaign, but none more impactful than Joel Embiid being sidelined. The 76ers are struggling mightily without the reigning NBA MVP, and they've lost seven of their last 10 games entering Tuesday's affair in Boston.
Meanwhile, the Celtics boast an NBA MVP odds contender of their own in Jayson Tatum. Boston has won eight straight games and nine of its last 10, and it owns an impressive 26-3 home record in 2023-24.

Tyrese Maxey Under 26.5 points (-108 via BetRivers) ⭐⭐⭐
Tyrese Maxey has been carrying the scoring load for the 76ers since Embiid went down with his knee injury. He's averaging 27 points per game in February, with all of those contests coming with Embiid out.
However, Maxey isn't expected to match that monthly average on Tuesday.
NumberFire projects Maxey to finish with just 25.2 points against the Celtics. This bet is as much about the line we're getting as it is the projection, though.

Jayson Tatum Under 5.5 assists (-120 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐
Tatum leads the Celtics in assists during 2023-24 with 4.8 per game. He's been dishing the ball more regularly in recent outings, with at least six assists in three of his last five.
However, as was the case with Maxey, the projections suggest Tatum won't reach those heights on Tuesday. If you're looking for a narrative as to why the projections suggest both players will go Under these totals, it's likely because this game is expected to be somewhat of a blowout, and the stars will therefore play fewer minutes.
Tatum is forecasted to record only 4.8 assists on Tuesday, according to NumberFire. That would match his season average.

Kristaps Porzingis Over 6.5 rebounds (-125 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
That brings us to our only Over for the day, as Kristaps Porzingis is expected to be a bit of a monster on the glass Tuesday.
Considering he's 7-foot-2, Porzingis isn't grabbing a ton of boards this season while averaging only 6.8 per game. But he's projected to get more involved down low against the 76ers.
NumberFire projects Porzingis to finish with 7.7 rebounds on Tuesday, and many of the Celtics are getting rebound projections that would surpass their season average.
