AFL news 2023: Delistings, retirements from 2022, where are they now, local footy signings, new clubs, jobs

Doncaster signed one of Port Adelaide's greatest ever players Robbie Gray in late November. Devon Meadows signed former Saints Paddy Ryder and Dean Kent. Woodville-West Torrens has regained delisted Crows forward James Rowe and ex-Cat Zane Williams. North Melbourne has been busy at the VFL recruiting table under new coach Tom Lynch. Joel Selwood has a significant off-field role as a part-time leadership coach at Melbourne Storm. He is one the players from the 2022 playing departures class remaining at AFL club land in an off the field capacity. He turned down offers from other AFL clubs and Cricket Australia.

The class of 2022 delisted/retired players are doing their best to find new clubs and jobs in 2023.

Luke Brown retired and is playing for Tea Tree Gully in the Adelaide Footy League. Ben Davis is still playing, but he's also running his Indigenous artwork business. James Rowe was delisted and moved to Woodville-West Torrens. Brett Turner was transferred to Glenelg.

Mitchell Cox, Connor McFadyen, Mitch Robinson and Deividas Uosis have been delisted from AFL. Deividas has been playing with Dingle in GAA.

Will Hayes, Oscar McDonald, Williamstown, Jack Newnes, Luke Parks, Liam Stocker, Tom Williamson and Liam Stoner have been delisted.

Callum Brown, Tyler Brown and Isaac Chugg are being delisted. Jack Madgen, Liam McMahon and Caleb Poulter are set to play for different leagues. Jordan Roughead is a development coach at Collingwood and a senior assistant at AFLW.

Cody Brand, Tom Cutler, Josh Eyre, Brayden Ham, Michael Hurley, Garrett McDonagh, Devon Smith, Alec Waterman, and Tom Hird are all delisted.

Mitch Crowden has been delisted from Fremantle. David Mundy retired and is considering an off-field role at Perth. Joel Western has also been de-listed and moved to Claremont.

Luke Dahlhaus has retired and is already a director of financial advisory business One Private Wealth. Shaun Higgins has already indicated he won't play local footy. Quinton Narkle has been invited to train with Richmond (AFL) in the hope of winning a lifeline via the SSP. Joel Selwood is a Leadership coach at Melbourne Storm (NRL). Nick Stevens has left the club and will play in WAFL. Paul Tsapatolis has moved to Point Cook (Western Region Football League). Zane Williams has joined Woodville-West Torrens (ANL).

Matt Conroy, Jez McLennan, Oleg Markov, Patrick Murtagh, Rhys Nicholls and Rory Thompson have been delisted from AFL.

Jarrod Brander has been delisted from the AFL. Matt de Boer retired to focus on his business. Zach Sproule has also been de-listed and moved to South Adelaide.

Jackson Callow, Connor Downie, Kyle Hartigan, Ben McEvoy, Tom Phillips, Jack Saunders and Jack Callows are all delisted.

Mitch Brown, Majak Daw, Fraser Rosman and Fraser Womack have retired.

Atu Bosenavulagi has left football and is now pursuing rugby league career. Kyron Hayden has been traded to Subiaco in WAFL. Tom Lynch retired and Matt McGuinness has moved to Southport. Jared Polec has joined Yarraville-Seddon Eagles in WFFL Netball Legue. Josh Walker is linked to Balwyn in EFL netball league. Patrick Walker has also been moved from AFL to the SANFL, but he's not yet a player.

Martin Frederick, Robbie Gray, Sam Mayes, Steven Motlop, Taj Schofield, and Sam Skinner have been delisted from AFL.

Jake Aarts, Josh Caddy, Riley Collier-Dawkins, Shane Edwards, Kane Lambert, Will Martyn, Matty Parker and Sydney Stack have been delisted. Shane is now development coach at Richmond.

Jarryn Geary, Dan Hannebery, Darragh Joyce, Dean Kent, Jarrod Lienert, Paddy Ryder and Jarrold Lierner are retiring from the AFL.

James Bell has been delisted and is playing in Glenelg (SANFL). Josh Kennedy is an ambassador for Future Generation. Sam Naismith has left Port Melbourne and he's linked to Carlton. Colin O'Riordan is moving back to Australia after graduating with first class honours in business marketing from Kaplan Business School. Callum Sinclair works full-time for Dexus in property development. Lewis Taylor is a netball player in Terang-Mortlake (Hampden Football Netball League).

Hugh Dixon, Tom Joyce, Jack Redden, Zac Langdon, Patrick Naish, Jackson Nelson and Luke Strnadica have been delisted from AFL. Josh Kennedy has launched Beyond Distilling with Chris Masten. Luke has relocated to Narrogin for a job at Clontarf.

Louis Butler, Stefan Martin, Charlie Parker and Mitch Wallis are being delisted by Western Bulldogs.
