Early Voting won the Withers by 16 lengths. He set fast fractions of 23.57, 48.04, 1:14.29 and 151. The field spread out and the high pace figures probably set a grueling pace. Early Voting gave all his energy to the first half-mile and those blazing pace numbers. Because he ran so fast, the rest of the field couldn't keep up. Courvoisier finished 7th after chasing Early voting. He disappointed bettors with a poor third-place finish in the City of Brotherly Love Stakes at Parx Racing.
