Betting Action Picks Up at Pennsylvania Sportsbooks in August
There was $363 million in wagering in Pennsylvania sportsbooks in August. The state's gross revenue was about $42.2 million. After deducting free bets and promotional credits, taxable revenue earned by the state sportsbook was nearly $34 million last month.
FanDuel took $132.1 million in bets in August in Pennsylvania. The start of the NFL's regular season should increase interest among bettors. The number of checks in the Keystone State was up 29.7% for the first week of NFL action this year compared to last year.
