Cincinnati Reds lost the draft lottery on Tuesday night. They will have the 7th overall pick in 2023. The team has picked 7 overall six times in franchise history. The lottery was set up to prevent teams from tanking. It was the first time the lottery has been held. MLBPA and ownership groups agreed to it. There will be an additional Competitive Balance Round A pick. That pick is available to trade. In the past the Reds have used it to their advantage.
