It’s a really good evening with three first round ties and a second round tie which is, at the time of publication, still to be confirmed. This one is intriguing, it’s a really hard one to call.

Dylan Slevin is only 21 and he’s here making his debut. If you don’t know much about him and he won his Tour card at the start of the year and won a Development Tour title.

You feel like he’ll be coming here full of confidence but, of course, he’s inexperienced on this stage whereas Florian Hempel has gone past this round in his last couple of appearances and won a last-gasp qualifier to make it here. I’m going to go with experience this time and go for Hempel to Win 3-1.

We know plenty about Darren Webster, he’s a two-time quarter finalist here but it’s the first time he’s qualified since 2020 so I’m actually going to go for Niels Zonneveld in this one. He’s never won on this stage but I’m going to back him to break new ground. I don’t want to be boring and repeat myself but I do think this will be 3-1 to Niels Zonneveld.

I think this is a good draw for Fallon Sherrock. I spoke to her at the draw at the end of November and she admitted she was pleased because of the form Jermaine Wattimena has been in, a little but up and down.

I think Fallon is hitting form at exactly the right time and she’s won four of the last five Women’s Series. I’m very much in the Fallon Sherrock corner so I think this will be a win for The Queen Of The Alexandra Palace.
