Edmonton Oilers Odds and Ends September Breakdown
The Edmonton Oilers preseason is well underway. Here are some odds and ends to break down over the past couple weeks.
Oilers signed Ryan Murray to a one-year contract at NHL minimum of $750,000. Murray was the second player in the running for the first overall pick in 2012. He was passed over in favour of Nail Yakupov, who turned out to be a big bust. Yak upov has been plagued with injuries his entire career and has only played an 82 game season once in his nine-season NHL career. The best player from the 2012 draft was Filip Forsberg. He put up 469 points in 566 games. Tom Wilson, Andrei Vasilevsky and Matt Dumba were drafted in first round in that draft.
