Kickoff times and broadcasting networks announced for four Miami Hurricanes games

College football is almost here!

The start of the 2023 college football season is less than 100 days away and kickoff times have been released for some of the key ACC games.

Kickoff times and the broadcast network for those games have been released for four Miami games in 2023:

- 9/1 vs. Miami of Ohio, 7 p.m., ACC Network

- 9/9 vs. Texas A&M, 3:30 p.m., ABC

- 9/14 vs. Bethune-Cookman, 7:30 p.m., ACC Network

- 11/24 @Boston College, 12 p.m., ABC

These games include three contests that are not played on a Saturday. The Hurricanes open the season on a Friday night. UM then takes on FCS opponent Bethune-Cookman on a Thursday night. The regular season finale is against Boston College on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Miami’s contest against Texas A&M on September 9th is the premiere non-conference game for the Hurricanes in 2023. UM lost at TAMU 17-9 last season. Both the Aggies and Hurricanes finished with a 5-7 record in 2022.

According to Caesars Sportsbook, Miami is a 17 point favorite over Miami of Ohio and a 6.5 point underdog against Texas A&M.

UM will look to get off to a fast start in the month of September and put a disappointing 2022 campaign in the past. The Hurricanes have not gone undefeated in the first month of a season since 2017 (not counting the strange 2020 COVID season). Miami last to Texas A&M and Middle Tennessee State during the month of September in the 2022 season.

That 2017 season was also the last time UM beat the premier non-conference team on the regular season schedule with the Hurricanes throttling then No. 3 Notre Dame, 41-8 at Hard Rock Stadium.

From 2018-22, Miami lost non-conference regular season games to LSU (2018), Florida (2019), FIU (2019), Alabama (2021), Michigan State (2021), Texas A&M (2022), and Middle Tennessee State (2022).

UM’s non-conference opponents—Miami of Ohio, Texas A&M, Bethune-Cookman, and Temple—finished the 2022 season with a combined record of 16-32. Miami of Ohio was the only school of that bunch to go to a bowl game and they finished with a 6-7 record.

The Hurricanes are looking to take a big step forward in 2023 after a disappointing 5-7 showing in 2022. In order to do that, UM will need to handle its business in the non-conference games in September and close the season on a positive note during Thanksgiving weekend.

Caesars Sportsbook has set Miami’s regular season win total over/under betting line at 7.5 wins.
