LA Angels vs. San Diego Padres Betting Analysis & Prediction

One of the better MLB games of the day will take place on Tuesday as the Los Angeles Angels will take on the San Diego Padres. While the Angels have been playing better baseball recently, they’re hopeful that they can bounce back after a tough loss in Game 1 of this three-game set and try to win a tougher game on their MLB schedule.

San Diego, on the other hand, hasn’t played too well all season and needs to continue finding ways to win games at a high level, as they did on Monday night.

Los Angeles Angels vs San Diego Padres

Location of the game: Petco Park, San Diego, CA.

Date & Time: Tuesday, July 4. 6:40 pm ET.

How to watch: MLB.TV

The Los Angeles Angels score in Game 1 saw them lose 10-3. They had a chance of winning the game but then gave up six runs in the 6th-8th innings. It was a disappointing loss as they were fighting back, but the Angels were coming off a win against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

At this point in the season, the MLB standings are too competitive in the American League for them to keep losing.

This could be one of the easier games on the San Diego Padres schedule, although that’s been said multiple times all season. San Diego won Game 1 but is still just 3-7 in their last 10 games. It’s been an interesting season for them, and that’s important for us to remember with our Angels vs Padres prediction. If they can come out and swing the bats, they could find themselves in a better position.

The Los Angeles Angels are one of the more interesting MLB teams, and we can say that for a few different reasons. While the talent is clearly there, Los Angeles continues to not be able to figure it out, and that’s why it’s tough to back them with our MLB picks on Tuesday.

The one reason we could back them is because Shohei Ohtani is going to be on the mound. Ohtani is the best player in baseball, and his MLB player stats back that up. At this point, there’s no debate that he’s going to be the American League MVP, and rightfully so.

If the Angels can give him any bit of run support in this game, they should find themselves in a good position.

The MLB injury report for the San Diego Padres has been tough this season. Whether it be injuries or suspensions, San Diego has had to play without some of their better players for most of the year. They seem to be getting healthy, and that’s great news considering they should be one of the best teams in baseball.

Our Angels vs Padres prediction could be backing them just off of star power, although they haven’t shown much this year in terms of winning games consecutively. Juan Soto, Xander Bogaerts, Manny Machado, and Fernando Tatis all need to figure it out and become leaders in the Padres dugout for them to get better.

For our Angels vs Padres prediction, there aren’t any new injury updates besides Machado and Bogaerts still dealing with lingering issues.

With Shohei Ohtani getting plus money on the moneyline, backing the Angels doesn’t seem to be a bad idea here.

The best bet in this game will be playing the Angels for plus-money on the moneyline at +110. This is a weird line given how bad San Diego has been this season and while they won Game 1, it’s tough to envision them doing that for another game.
