Manchester United hope to build on the back of their emotional win three days prior as they host West Ham at Old Trafford for a Sunday matinee in the Premier League.

The Red Devils appeared to be on track for another trademark fumble as they coughed up a 2-0 lead to Wolves and then were pegged back again in stoppage time at 3-3, but Kobbie Mainoo delivered a 97th minute winner to secure all three points and move back into contention for a European place.

United now sit just one point back of the sixth-placed Hammers and could go above their latest London foes with a victory at home.

West Ham have not been beaten in league play since the 5-0 thrashing by Fulham in early December, but they've been bounced from both the EFL Cup and FA Cup since then, and have been held to three straight draws, most recently against Sheffield United and Bournemouth.

Man United vs West Ham prediction, odds

  • Moneyline lean: Draw ($4.20)
  • Score prediction: Man United 1-1 West Ham

Neither of these teams are terribly easy to trust. Manchester United have collapsed on multiple occasions of late, twice failing to hold a lead against Wolves and almost suffering a disaster against Newport County in the FA Cup last week.

West Ham, meanwhile, have been held to three straight draws against sides they will have expected to beat, seemingly playing up or down to their competition.

Therefore, it's reasonable to expect the two sides to finish level as neither wishes to fall back in the chase for European places.

Man United vs West Ham best bet

  • Pick: Under 2.5 goals
  • Odds: $2.28 (Unibet)

While Man United are coming off a thrilling goal explosion against Wolves, they aren't exactly equipped to keep up that pace up front. They last put up over 1.5 expected goals in a Premier League match way back on December 6 in the 4-1 win over Chelsea, going six straight with a muted output before Thursday's outburst.

West Ham can finish chances well but also don't generate opportunities en masse, with James Ward-Prowse noticeably lacking for creative production over the last two months and Jarrod Bowen's contributions also thinning with just seven shots in his last four games, including a pair of goose eggs in front of goal.

Given significant plus odds, this play has value as both teams take the field on very short rest after putting up solid attacking numbers which appear to be aberrations from their season-long production.

Man United vs West Ham prop bet

  • Pick: Casemiro to be booked
  • Odds: $4.60 (Unibet)

Former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro is back at full strength, and he has slid right back into his old ways. His solid defensive cover and incisive progression forward comes at a significant disciplinary cost. It's progressed to the point where Manchester United fans joke that Casemiro gives the ball away just so he can win it back.

The Brazilian was booked just three minutes into the last match against Wolves, and gave away a penalty later, withdrawn after 73 minutes having committed three fouls. It gave him a yellow card in both his games since returning from injury, adding to the 72nd minute caution he earned against Newport County in the FA Cup.

While foul hawk Lucas Paqueta is out injured until March, West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus has won 34 fouls this season, 11th most in the Premier League. Casemiro will be a prime target for a yellow card from referee Andy Madley who has issued nearly five bookings a game in EPL action this season.
