Massachusetts Sports Betting: Applicants Deadline on Monday

The deadline for sports betting license applications is Monday. Applicants must submit a $200,000 non-refundable application fee by the 2 p.m. deadline. The commission plans to launch in-person betting at the casinos and slots parlor by late January or early March. Regulators are working on regulations that will need to be approved and in place before bets can begin. One issue that emerged was how the regulations might be able to support the law's prohibition on the use of credit cards to place bets. An official for the company hired to help with some aspects of sports gambling implementation believes the laws merely ban operators from accepting credit card use.
