Masters 2023 predictions, golf odds, picks, props: Betting insider targeting Scottie Scheffler to repeat

The 2023 Masters is quickly approaching as Augusta National Golf Clubs gets set to host the world's top golfers beginning on Thursday, April 6. It's been a 2022-23 PGA Tour season marked by big names finding success, as Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler have both piled up multiple wins. They come into the Masters 2023 with plenty of momentum, but they'll be challenged by a loaded 2023 Masters field that includes other top-10 players such as Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay, Cameron Smith and Justin Thomas.

The latest 2023 Masters odds from Caesars Sportsbook list Rahm as the 15-2 favorite. He's followed closely by Scheffler, the defending champion, at 8-1 in the 2023 Masters field. One stunning prediction from McDonald: He is fading Viktor Hovland, even though the Norwegian recently tied for third at the Players Championship. Hovland has surged into the top-10 in the world after compiling back-to-back top-10 finishes at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Players Championship. In fact, he's only finished worse than 21st two times all season and shown remarkable consistency.

Still, Augusta National is one course the promising young player hasn't tamed yet. He's yet to record any top-20 showings there and McDonald is concerned that his play around the green will be his fatal flaw. On the other hand, McDonald says "Scottie Scheffler should have a legitimate claim to another green jacket." The 26-year-old is 94-under-par over his past six outings, finishing in the top 11 in each one. He also has been in the top 20 in all three tries at Augusta.
