Eagle Farm horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:48) Ladbrokes Racing Club 0MW (1000m)

#2 – Hold On Honey @ $2.60

Hold On Honey hasn’t been in winning form recently, but the five-year-old is right on the mark.

The son of Counterattack owns two placings from three starts at Eagle Farm, so he doesn’t need to improve much to win.

We’re happy with the odds available.

Race 2. (13:23) Widden Basil Nolan JR Plate (1000m)

#4 – Moet at Midnight @ $4

Moet at Midnight made a good impression when winning a trial at Doomben, so he could get his racing career off to a winning start.

The Barry Lockwood-trained son of The Mission won by just under a length, so it was a professional effort.

The each-way odds are good considering the risk in these races.

Race 3. (13:58) Gallopers Sports Club BM68 (1200m)

#1 – Ready for Anything @ $6

Ready for Anything has been running well this campaign, including a fresh up win at Eagle Farm.

The Matt Dunn-trained five-year-old has winning form on the track, and that can’t be overlooked against this level of opposition.

He has a big weight to carry, but we’re not concerned.

Race 4. (14:33) RQ Supports Racing Industry Safety Handicap (1400m)

#1 – In Evidence @ $2.80

In Evidence looked good when winning consecutive races earlier this preparation at Rockhampton and Doomben.

The three-year-old son of Nicconi wasn’t far away in open company last start, so he should find this more to his liking.

Getting 3kg off his back helps his chances.

Race 5. (15:08) Sky Racing BM80 (1830m)

#2 – Fifth Position @ $5

Fifth Position is taking his sweet time to win a race, but the Gollan-trained runner comes off an encouraging performance.

The son of Dark Angel is a four-time winner overall, and his second placing behind Beaufort Park is a good form guide.

Punters get each-way odds to snap up.

Race 6. (15:43) Drinkwise BM75 (1200m)

#8 – Daytona @ $4.50

Daytona ran well for third at Doomben fresh up, and there is plenty of improvement to come.

The four-year-old son of Sebring has yet to race at Eagle Farm, but it’s a track that should suit his running pattern.

It’s an even field, so include him at the price.

Race 7. (16:18) Road to Magic Millions Plate (1500m)

#9 – Lolly Yeats @ $6.50

Lolly Yeats won well at Warwick Farm three back, and she showed her promise in Queensland with a placing at Eagle Farm.

The six-year-old mare by Lawman was a short margin behind the winner, which was a tidy performance in defeat.

Dropping in weight could be enough to get it done.

Race 8. (16:57) XXXX Queensland Cup (2400m)

#2 – Desert Icon @ $2.70

Desert Icon comes off racing in Sydney, so that’s the best form guide for this race.

The eight-year-old son of Sea the Stars is a six-time winner overall, and his class should take him close despite mixed recent form.

We’re not surprised to see money come for him throughout the week.

Race 9. (17:33) XXXX Gold C6 (1400m)

#12 – Preach @ $6

Preach capped off solid form with a win at Doomben, so we’re happy to stick with him based on that run.

The five-year-old gelding gets the bonus of dropping to 51.5kg, which makes him awfully tough to beat.

We’re taking the each-way odds available.

Race 10. (18:15) Canadian Club (1400m)

#16 – Canadian Dancer @ $4.20

Canadian Dancer owns five wins and five placings from 15 starts, including two wins at Eagle Farm.

The five-year-old mare has run the odd bad race this season, but she bounced back with a win at Eagle Farm last time out.

54kg on her back helps her winning hopes.
