We have expert betting tips for the card this Wednesday at Doomben, which features nine quality races.

Punters get value odds throughout the day in Queensland, and we have found our best horse racing tips.

Doomben horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (11:57) XXXX Dry Maiden (1660m)

#4 – Nagamie

Top 4 Betting on Racing!

Nagamie owns two second placings from two starts, so it’s only a matter of time before he breaks through.

The three-year-old son of Dundeel comes off a second placing at Ipswich, where he was only a half-length behind the winner.

We expect bookmakers to have him well-favoured to win.

Race 2. (12:32) Ladbrokes Yard Comments Maiden (1200m)

#8 – Ever So Clever

Top 4 Betting on Racing!

Ever So Clever ran second on debut at Sunshine Coast, so she’s good enough to go one better on Wednesday.

The three-year-old filly by Zoustar didn’t have much betting support at $12 after some moderate trials, but she showed her real ability on race day.

Getting 1.5kg off her back helps her chances.

Race 3. (13:08) Mullins Lawyers Maiden (1200m)

#5 – Houston Rocket

Top 4 Betting on Racing!

Houston Rocket has yet to race away from Sunshine Coast, where he owns two placings, but Doomben should suit.

The three-year-old has been prepared with a trial placing at Doomben, so he’s always around the mark.

Barrier four is ideal and he should be right in the mix.

Race 4. (13:43) Mount Franklin BM68 (1660m)

#1 – Yangari

Top 4 Betting on Racing!

Yangari has been around the mark in two runs back from a spell, and it’s about time he won.

The four-year-old son of Spirit of Boom owns three wins from 20 starts, and he was good enough to win consecutive races last preparation.

Barrier four is ideal and he could turn around his Doomben record.

Race 5. (14:18) Souths Sports Club C1 (2070m)

#6 – Cristalino

Top 4 Betting on Racing!

Cristalino has yet to race at Doomben, but the four-year-old mare has plenty of upside.

She won at Eagle Farm four starts back before going two solid races at Sunshine Coast and Ipswich, so that form bodes well.

Punters could get value odds on race day.

Race 6. (14:53) Family Raceday C4 Handicap (1050m)

#1 – Rising

Top 4 Betting on Racing!

Rising was too good for them at Scone last start and that form stacks up nicely in Queensland.

The Brett Cavanough-trained gelding owns four wins from eight starts, including wins at Scone, Ballarat, and Pakenham.

He should be too quick for them against this level of opposition.

Race 7. (15:28) Stradbroke Season BM70 (1350m)

#7 – Billy’s Bro

Top 4 Betting on Racing!

Billy’s Bro owns two wins and six placings from 12 starts, so he has made a nice start to his career.

He comes off a tidy fourth at Eagle Farm, which should be a solid form guide for midweek racing.

He has always promised to rise through the grades, so now he gets his chances to pay off loyal punters.

Race 8. (16:03) Mekkafest 19 August BM70 (1350m)

#8 – Sunfall

Top 4 Betting on Racing!

Sunfall comes off a second placing at Pakenham, so we’re happy to include Victorian form.

The four-year-old son of Zoustar showed good form in Melbourne, including a second placing at Sandown behind Lovin’ Laughs.

His recent trial at Doomben is a good indication of his talent.

Race 9. (16:38) Milliners Market BM65 (1200m)

#10 – Goldschlager

Top 4 Betting on Racing!

Goldschlager looked handy early on in her career, so we’re prepared to stick with her.

The Chris Munce-trained mare likes running over the distance, and bookmakers should have her at double-figure odds.

We think she’s worth including in selections.
