NBA player props: Best bets for Sunday, December 31 featuring Wembanyama, Smart, Porzingis

We have New Year’s Eve action in the NBA today with six games closing out the calendar year this evening. That presents plenty of opportunities to hit on player props courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook. We’ll go over some of our favorites below.

Victor Wembanyama over 1.5 threes (+145)

Wembanyama sat out for the San Antonio Spurs in Friday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers and will return to the floor for tonight’s home showdown against the Boston Celtics. Wemby is putting up a handful of three-point shot attempts every night and drained two in their matchup against the Blazers on Thursday. With a few days rest, I think he can get at least two against the league’s top team tonight.

Marcus Smart over 12.5 points (+100)

The Memphis Grizzlies will host the Sacramento Kings tonight and it will mark Smart’s fourth game since returning from a foot injury. He’s quickly re-acclimated himself to the lineup and put up 22 points in Friday’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. 12.5 points is a low bar for the veteran to clear, so I’m hammering the over.

Kristaps Porzingis under 1.5 blocks (+114)

Porzingis is averaging 1.7 blocks per game against the Celtics, but has an interesting challenge tonight going up against Wembanyama and the Spurs. Opponents are averaging just 4.2 blocks per game against San Antonio, the third lowest total in the league. I’ll go with the under on his block total tonight.
