It’s no secret that offensive players get the spotlight nearly every week in the NFL, generally at the expense of the players on the other side of the ball. However, there are intriguing prop bets from our best sports betting sites for defensive players, too.

Defensive player props

Roquan Smith Over 9.5 tackles+assists (+102 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Smith is part of a strong lineage of Baltimore linebackers, and he sits inside the top five in the league in total tackles (87). The fearsome defender is averaging 9.6 tackles and assists per game in 2023. He's notched at least 10 combined tackles in five of his nine games, including his Week 4 contest against the Browns, whom Baltimore faces again in Week 10.

Cleveland is running the most offensive plays per game in 2023 (71.6). The Browns have allowed 10 defenders to register at least 10 total tackles in their matchups.

Additionally, the Ravens are allowing 68.8 offensive plays per game at home in their 2023 campaign, so Smith will get plenty of opportunities.   

Danielle Hunter Over 0.75 sacks (-110 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hunter sits atop the leaderboard with his league-leading 10 sacks. The Vikings linebacker snapped a four-game streak with at least one sack in Week 9 while coming up empty against the Falcons. But he's now only failed to register a sack twice over nine games in 2023. Smith is already only a half-sack away from topping his 2022 season total.

Now he faces Derek Carr, who has been sacked 19 times in 2023. Carr has been brought down behind the line of scrimmage multiple times in six of nine games. But Hunter will still need to put in some extra effort to cash this Over, as the Saints' offensive line has given up just two sacks over the last three weeks.

Kenny Moore II Over 0.5 interceptions (+600 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Moore added to his interception total significantly in Week 9 when he picked off Carolina quarterback Bryce Young twice in their matchup. He leads the Colts in interceptions with three. The Indianapolis cornerback joins safety Julian Blackmon as the only two defenders on the team with more than one pick in 2023.

Now the Colts face New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones, who has been intercepted nine times this campaign. Jones is in a four-way tie for the most interceptions thrown. The former Alabama signal-caller has been picked off in seven of his nine games, including three of his last four.
