O'Gara: 10 preseason SEC takes and predictions that I'm already doing a 180 on

I'm a writer who spends 8 months writing and talking about a sport before games actually happen. I offer takes because it's better than telling you that there are a wide range of outcomes for everybody.

Arkansas is 0-2 in SEC play and staring at an 0,3 start. The team's defense is struggling with Jalen Catalon out for the year. Arkansas would need to go 5-1 in the rest of the way to finish second in West.

Spencer Rattler is last in the SEC among qualified signal-callers with a quarterback rating of 126.7. He has a tendency to drift instead of stepping up in pocket and when he does have time, he forces too many throws.

Josh Vann has just 3 catches for 13 yards all season. He played between 14-17 passing snaps in all 5 games. His most notable plays have been on special teams.

Cedric Tillman and Brock Bowers are the only SEC returners who had more catches of 30 yards last year than Vann. Vanna's skill set lines up better with Rattler's arm talent.

Ole Miss' defense has been very good this season. The team has allowed 11.8 points per game and 19 points in two games against Power 5 competition. AJ Finley, Troy Brown and Khari Coleman have been the team's best players.

LSU is averaging 24.8 points per game, down from 26.5 points last year. The team is also averaging just 4. 8 yards per play against Power 5 competition. Offensive line is still a problem with many inexperienced pieces and Jayden Daniels isn't working through progressions to target LSU's talented wideouts.

The Aggies are struggling with passing efficiency. They will have to improve at the quarterback position. They were overrated.

A&M's passing efficiency has been worse than against FBS competition. Ainias Smith is out for the year and there's no reliable pass-catcher in the offense to bail out struggling quarterbacks.

Mark Stoops' team has been playing well up front. Deone Walker has already shown his ability. The defensive line made some adjustments against Ole Miss. They need JJ Weaver back healthy.  O'Gara is already doing a 180 on his preseason SEC takes and predictions.

Christian Leary has played just 1 catch for 6 yards in 5 games for Alabama. Learys played 8.4 snaps per game in the spring game. Alabama has struggled to find reliable pass-catchers in preseason. Jalen Milroe could be a new target for Bryce Young.

Ole Miss is 5-0 and has a top-10 ranking. The team has 30 new players and a difficult remaining schedule. Lane Kiffin's team is capable of winning 6 games.  Olivia is a team with New Year's 6 bowl upside.
