ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’m staying with the Padres, but I’m not terribly excited about it. Hill has posted eight earned runs over his last three outings on 13 hits and four walks in 11.0 innings total. He’s 0-2 in that time. As for Mikolas, he’s having a rough time lately as well with 16 earned runs over 17.0 innings in his last three starts, going 0-2 as well. This one could be a high-scoring affair early if neither starter can find his groove. On Tuesday San Diego had a 5-3 lead going into the bottom of the eighth but the pen couldn’t hold on. It was a bad break for the Padres, who put up a competent effort overall otherwise. In any case, I like the Padres to bounce back and take the series Wednesday.
