Texans vs. Colts NFL Player Props, Odds: Picks & Predictions for Saturday

Our Texans vs. Colts NFL player props for Week 18 based on the best NFL odds from the best sports betting apps examine a crucial matchup for the AFC playoff picture.

The AFC South eternally feels like the NFL's clown car division. The 2023 season is no exception, and eventually one of the three 9-7 teams will emerge from the mucky mediocrity to win the division title.

The winner of Saturday night's clash between two of those teams, the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans, will dramatically improve their playoff chances. And the loser will begin making offseason vacation plans.

To accompany our Texans-Colts prediction and all of our NFL predictions for Week 18, here are our best Texans-Colts NFL player props for Week 18 (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Texans vs. Colts NFL player props: Week 18

Devin Singletary Over 63.5 rushing yards (-110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you're sitting on some newly acquired Christmas cash, go ahead and throw it all at this price from bet365 for Devin Singletary's rushing yards total.

DraftKings is offering the same total at 63.5 but for -115 odds. Caesars is down at 62.5, though that requires paying extra juice at -115 too. Meanwhile, FanDuel sits at 66.5 yards.

Singletary is fresh off a quality day against the Tennessee Titans and their respectable 14th-ranked run defense while posting 80 yards on the ground at five yards per carry. Now he gets a chance to tee off on the league's 27th-ranked unit that's giving up 127.8 yards per game. He cashed the Over on this prop in five of his last eight outings.

That's leading to favorable projections far above this total from bet365, including a 72.2-yard forecast from NumberFire.

Gardner Minshew Over 33.5 pass attempts (-110 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Colts should choose their best route to beating the Texans and attempt to exploit a vulnerable 26th-ranked pass defense.

It's a unit just one week removed from letting a nearly 39-year-old Joe Flacco explode for 368 yards and three touchdowns. The Texans also allowed struggling New York Jets passer Zach Wilson to go off for 301 yards in Week 14.

So Minshew should be asked to follow what seems to be his natural calling, which is to give any risk a big ol' bear hug while repeatedly chucking it downfield. He's done that often while soaring past this number on several occasions and recording 40-plus throws five times over his 12 starts in 2023.

Gardner Minshew Over 237.5 passing yards (-110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This game should feature plenty of scoring, which is reflected in the 47.5 total it's been given at most of our NFL prop betting sites. That's tied for the second-highest total in our Week 18 odds.

With both that and the Texans' weak passing defense in mind, let's go to the Minshew well once more.

This play comes with another quality price from bet365, as Draftkings and BetMGM are juicing the same line more heavily at -115 and -118, respectively. Caesars is sitting further up at 240.5 yards.

That latter number is in line with the projection from NumberFire, giving us a bit of cushion to work with. Minshew's undying love of the deep ball should also make you feel comfortable given the matchup. He's made only 12 starts in 2023, and yet the journeyman sits fourth leaguewide in pass attempts that have traveled 40-plus yards through the air, and ninth in 30-plus yard heaves.

Now he'll get to do his aerial attacking against a defense that's coughing up the second-most yards per attempt at 7.8.
