Tips From The Big Bookies for Mornington/Hawkesbury Cup day

Racenet's stable of bookies have got stuck into the form for Saturday's racing around the country.

They have zoned in on the Mornington Cup, Hawkesbury Gold Cup and Hawkesbury Crown along with providing their best and value bets.

Here is this week's edition of Tips From The Big Bookies.

Matthew Campbell – Betr

MORNINGTON CUP – HEZASHOCKA – Race 8 No.5 (Mornington)Impossible to ignore the formlines having run fourth to Dubai Honour in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes last time out. Should get every chance to win on Saturday.

GOLD CUP – FLOATING ARTIST – Race 9 No.3 (Hawkesbury)

Went straight into the blackbook after a slashing first-up effort in Melbourne having not run since Verry Elleegant's Melbourne Cup. Hard to beat here.

CROWN – EXPAT – Race 8 No.2 (Hawkesbury)

Looked to have the race won in the Sapphire Stakes before just being gobbled up late. She's got a super record at the 1300m having won four of seven.

BEST – JIGSAW – Race 7 No.1 (Mornington)

Gets the perfect map with not much pressure expected up front. Soft winner of the Australia Stakes two back and a repeat effort has him taking this out.

VALUE – KOTE – Race 7 No.2 (Hawkesbury)

Knocking on the door for a win this campaign and will enjoy getting back onto a firmer track after tackling a heavy (8) last time out in the Arrowfield Sprint.

Glenn Munsie – TAB.com.au

MORNINGTON CUP – VOW AND DECLARE – Race 8 No.1 (Mornington)Providing this track stays at a soft (5), I have to be with him as not badly treated. Brings better form is better than where the majority of these are coming from and all three runs have been good.

GOLD CUP – NEW MANDATE – Race 9 No.8 (Hawkesbury)

Into second Australian preparation and just faded late first-up at Rosehill. Really strong at finish in barrier trial since and looks well suited here in an open race.

CROWN – MORE PROPHETS – Race 8 No.8 (Hawkesbury)

Sneaky flying but continually comes up with horror draws which is a shame. Having said that I can't let her go around without me especially when $20 plus is being bet.

BEST – KOTE – Race 7 No.2 (Hawkesbury)

Gets to 1400m and would love to see them ride him back here from an outside draw with all the speed also drawn wide. Previous two efforts are easily good enough for this.

VALUE – A VERY FINE RED– Race 6 No.10 (Hawkesbury)

Resumed with a strong effort down straight at Flemington behind Kallos. Four weeks between runs and finds a race with good speed. Only been to Hawkesbury once for a win over this trip.

Ryan Ingram – Sportsbet

MORNINGTON CUP – HEZASHOCKA – Race 8 No.5 (Mornington)Has to tick the 2400m box but gets in well off a run that rated as a career best last start. Will need a bit of a crafty ride from Blake Shinn going forward from the wide draw but he's the right man for the job.

GOLD CUP – LORD ARDMORE – Race 9 No.10 (Hawkesbury)

Ticks a few boxes. Chris Waller third-up, the Magic Man goes on, has the figures to win this, and maps ideally from the perfect gate. Will get every chance and $7.50 is the right price to find out.

CROWN – NEVER TALK – Race 8 No.10(Hawkesbury)

Will need a masterful ride from Dylan Gibbons but they should fly early and if they overdo it, she can finish over the top of them late. Was very good behind Zapateo last start.

BEST – NO DICE – Race 2 No.8 (Ascot)

No Dice ran well first-up over 1000m, gets the gun draw plus keeps William Pike. Should be winning. Anything north of $2.50 looks value to me.

VALUE – NO FILTER – Race 2 No.14 (Hawkesbury)

Flying at the moment, and with a positive ride can be in the right spot to be too strong for them late. Looks a great each-way play at the current odds on offer.

Joshua Bell – Ladbrokes

MORNINGTON CUP – RIGHT YOU ARE – Race 8 No.6 (Mornington)Second to White Marlin in the Easter Cup and his form prior was outstanding. Not sure the heavy track suited last time out and he was also a month between runs. His best is certainly good enough.

GOLD CUP – FLOATING ARTIST – Race 9 No.3 (Hawkesbury)

I think he has a few lengths on these if he produces his best. First run back in over a year was sound at Bendigo and his second-up form has always been strong. Loves the mile.

CROWN – NEVER TALK – Race 8 No.10 (Hawkesbury)

Well-deserving of a win in a race like this. Showed real improvement in the Sapphire Stakes where she had plenty to do out wide. Tricky barrier, but the rise to 1300m is ideal third-up.

BEST – ANDERMATT – Race 6 No.3 (Hawkesbury)

This looks a clear target race for him. Beaten just over three lengths in The Galaxy and that form has been okay since. Draws to get a dream run in transit and has trialled between starts.

VALUE – TRANSFORMATION – Race 2 No.4 (Hawkesbury)

Got up to win narrowly two back at Tamworth and has typically raced well over 1100m. Kept fresh for the run and has looked good in two recent trials.

Cameron McKinnon – Pointsbet

MORNINGTON CUP – HEZASHOCKA – Race 8 No.5 (Mornington)Down in class after a solid performance in the Queen Elizabeth behind the world class Dubai Honour. Gone forward every start and will be peaking. Handles wet.

GOLD CUP – FLOATING ARTIST – Race 9 No.3 (Hawkesbury)

Ran fourth in Verry Elleegant's Melbourne Cup before an injury. Second-up from a long spell, held up last start and finished off strongly. Up in distance and will be set for this.

CROWN – NEVER TALK – Race 8 No.10 (Hawkesbury)

Barrier no concern as she gets back anyway, and the speed will be good. Strong through the line last start and the extra distance will suit. Value in the race.

BEST – JIGSAW – Race 7 No.1 (Mornington)

Down in grade after tackling the William Reid Stakes which was a forgive run. All he needs to do is hold his rating to win. Will be a slow tempo and will control the race.

VALUE – PERFECT WORLD – Race 2 No.3 (Mornington)

Good return second-up from a spell. Will be fitter for the run and maps to get a soft path in transit from a handy barrier. Up in distance will suit as well.

Matthew Clingly – TopSport

MORNINGTON CUP – RIGHT YOU ARE – Race 8 No.6 (Mornington)Consistent type that chased home a good one last start when unsuited in the heavy going. Will push forward from the draw with only a moderate early tempo engaged.

GOLD CUP – KISS THE BRIDE – Race 9 No.16 (Hawkesbury)

Should get a nice run-in transit midfield. Drops 6.5kg from his close third first-up. Improves second-up, likes the track and has been placed eight times from 12 starts at the distance. Looks great value.

CROWN – SUR LA MER – Race 8 No.12 (Hawkesbury)

Primed and ready for this first-up assignment after two good trials. Yet to miss a place fresh and enjoys racing at the distance. Looks tough to beat.

BEST – RENOSU – Race 8 No.3 (Morphettville)

No shame in his gallant second behind a potential future star. Ben Melham takes over and has been in terrific form. Just needs to match his last start performance to be too good for his rivals here.

VALUE – RING OF STEEL – Race 9 No.19 (Doomben)

Given a long spell after some issues at his first start. The time to mature looks to have done the horse well. Came back and looked to be in a different class at Ipswich.

Zach Littman – BetDeluxe

MORNINGTON CUP – VOW AND DECLARE – Race 8 No.1 (Mornington)Placed in two runs from three this campaign as well as a brave fourth when did his best work late. Four week freshen up and likely to race on speed are a good combo for this trainer.

GOLD CUP – HOPEFUL – Race 9 No.7 (Hawkesbury)

Has won previously first-up and resumes here after a break of 10 months. Two trials leading suggests he will be ready. No doubt now the overseas stayers are just that slightly bit better than ours.

CROWN – PRINCESS GRACE – Race 8 No.1 (Hawkesbury)

Was left a little flat-footed first-up and was found wanting late. Will only improve from that with added fitness. Second-up now after a 26-week spell and has the superior formlines.

BEST – RANVEER – Race 3 No.3 (Mornington)

Resumes after 18 months off following being gelded. Trialled twice leading up to this, including winning the latest at Cranbourne on a soft track. Shown to have more than enough ability previously.

VALUE – PRADA GOSSIP – Race 2 No.13 (Mornington)

Even return first-up at Pakenham last start. Improved fitness and barrier one will undoubtedly help. Look to see her go forward and if she can get a cheap sectional along the way, me be able to hang on.

James Thomas – Palmerbet

MORNINGTON CUP – HEZASHOCKA – Race 8 No.5 (Mornington)Has been running well without winning but he should be cherry ripe here fourth-up over 2400m. His last start in the Queen Elizabeth behind Dubai Honour is an excellent form reference for this.

GOLD CUP – JOJO WAS A MAN – Race 9 No.9 (Hawkesbury)

Will have to deal with barrier 16 but he looks set to peak third-up over 1600m. He can handle all track conditions and regular rider Reece Jones goes back aboard. Looks over the odds around the $14 mark.

HAWKESBURY CROWN – EXPAT – Race 8 No.2 (Hawkesbury)

I thought she was OK last start behind a smart one in Zapateo. She gets out to 1300m now where she has won three times in five starts and her fourth-up record reads 4:3-0-0.

BEST – SHADOWS OF LOVE – Race 3 No.13 (Hawkesbury)

Won two in a two in a row this prep before losing to Olentia on protest with that horse now a Group 3 winner. That looks excellent form for a Midway.

VALUE – TITANIUM POWER – Race 6 No.4 (Hawkesbury)

He will improve on whatever he does here but he looks worth a throw at the stumps at double figure odds. Has won this track and trip previously and had a solid trial a week ago.

Clint Wallis – Neds

MORNINGTON CUP – HEZASHOCKA – Race 8 No.5 (Mornington)Held his ground when fifth behind Cascadian in the Australian Cup two starts back. Last time out he was less than two lengths off Dubai Honour in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes which looks excellent form.

GOLD CUP – JUST FOLK – Race 9 No.4 (Hawkesbury)

Races well the Sydney way of going and should find a soft track here which will be very much to his liking. Think he looks the value in the race at the current odds on offer.

CROWN – BRING THE RANSOM – Race 8 No.5 (Hawkesbury)

Only two lengths behind the winner first-up and ran on well from the back of the field when finishing sixth in the Emancipation. Tackled the Queen Of The Turf last start which was probably a step too far for her.

BEST – DASHING – Race 6 No.4 (Mornington)

Was very unlucky in the Morphettville Guineas and clearly should have won. Ran very well last time out at Sandown when placed behind two promising runners.

VALUE – STARVIRGO – Race 6 No.15 (Doomben)

Was in and around the placings in three straight runs at the start of the year. Held up terribly over this track and trip two starts back and again couldn't find space when needed last start over 1200m.

Chris Gregory – Playup

MORNINGTON CUP – HEZASHOCKA – Race 8 No.5 (Mornington)
Brings the premier form to this year's edition of the Mornington Cup. Stalked the big guns the best he could coming into the straight and fought on well behind Dubai Honour in the Queen Elizabeth.
GOLD CUP – LORD ARDMORE – Race 9 No.10 (Hawkesbury)
Reaching peak fitness now and third-up looks ready to strike. Found the inferior ground at Warwick Farm and wasn't beaten far. Has won third-up twice before and this looks a perfect race for him.
CROWN – PRINCESS GRACE – Race 8 No.1 (Hawkesbury)
Finds a winnable race her to open her account in Australia. Finished off well behind Zapateo first up, fitter now and the extra 100m is a plus. Is a black type winner overseas and she can measure up.
BEST – SHADOWS OF LOVE – Race 3 No.13 (Hawkesbury)
This Kim Waugh-trained galloper is flying this prep and looks to have this race at her mercy. She will be up on pace and will take some catching.
VALUE – A VERY FINE RED – Race 6 No.10 (Hawkesbury)
Returned well after a spell last time out and she looks a good each-way chance. Has raced in good company throughout her career and she looks to have come up over the odds against this field.
