Tottenham preparing £30m transfer offer for Bundesliga's fastest centre-back to add to £40m Maddison and £16.3m Vicario

TOTTENHAM are chasing the Bundesliga’s fastest centre-back, Micky van de Ven.

Spurs want to push through a £30million deal for the 6ft 4in Dutchman, 22 — though SunSport understands they are yet to make a formal approach to Wolfsburg.

Van de Ven played 33 times in the German top flight last term and skippered the Netherlands at the Under-21 Euros.

His astonishing pace saw him clocked at 22.3mph in one league game —  quicker than any other centre-half in the division.

Van de Ven is the latest quick move by Spurs.

It is thought that the defender is keen on a move to the Premier League.

He would have to compete for a starting spot with Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez.

Van de Ven's agent Jose Fortes Rodriguez has confirmed that there are several clubs interested in him.

He told WAZ in Germany: "Micky has played a fantastic season. There are many clubs that are interested.

"It would be stupid to say now that he will definitely stay in Wolfsburg. Anything can happen this summer.

"A player like Micky, who has developed so well – the calls from the clubs come automatically. I am asked: ‘What is the situation? Do we have a chance?’ As I said, anything can happen this summer.

"It could be that he leaves. But if the right club doesn’t come along, why shouldn’t Micky stay in Wolfsburg?"

Tottenham have been busy this summer as the club look to back new manager Ange Postecoglou.

The club have signed Empoli keeper Guglielmo Vicario for £16.3m and Leicester’s James Maddison for £40m last month — and are also adding Israeli winger Manor Solomon on a free transfer.

Solomon spent last season on loan at Fulham and impressed by scoring four times in 19 Premier League appearances.

Meanwhile star forward Harry Kane is still gaining interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
