What Will Happen in Golf Betting in 2024?

We have golf predictions for 2024, which promises to be another big year with majors, FedEx Cup, and LIV drama.

Much of the attention revolved around the LIV vs PGA Tour rivalry, which heated up with the signing of Jon Rahm.

2024 could see more signings and more drama, but the focus remains on golf, and there are some superstars ready to make their mark.

Back Scheffler Early

One of our top golf picks is to back Scottie Scheffler in the first four months of the year.

Apart from his Hero World Challenge win earlier this month, which doesn’t count as an official PGA Tour win, Scheffler hasn’t won outside of February, March, and April.

He has gone close on many occasions to winning in the other months, but it hasn’t happened. Therefore, when February rolls around, back him consistently.

The Masters, Players Championship, and tournaments like the Phoenix Open are right up his alley. We expect him to be near the top of the leaderboard in all three tournaments, and he’s one of our top picks for the Masters.

Entertain his Masters’ odds with our sportsbook. Scheffler should be a multiple PGA Tour winner in 2024.

The name on everyone’s lips is Tiger Woods, who made an appearance in the Hero World Challenge.

He played well, considering his injuries, but there is too much hype about his return to the majors.

Sport betting markets had the line at 2½ for how many majors will he play, but we think he’ll be lucky to play in two majors.

We expect him to turn up at Augusta for the Masters, but we don’t think his body will allow him to tee it up at the PGA Championship, US Open, and Open Championship.

We would love to see him, but 2024 could feature Woods on the sidelines more so than on the greens.

Scandivanians Dominating

Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg ended the year in fine style, and they could take over the PGA Tour in 2024.

Hovland comes off a win in the FedEx Cup, which secured him a massive payday. The young Norwegian is the most promising golfer on the Tour, and he could make bettors plenty of money.

Aberg scored his first PGA Tour, and it’s only a matter of time before he wins again. The Swede headlines our betting predictions in 2024, and he’s worth backing in most tournaments he plays.

We’re unsure if he can win a major in his second year on tour, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see him contending in either the Masters or the PGA Championship.

As it stands, Hovland is there to take over, and he could become world number one with a couple more wins. Much like Aberg, he turned down a big offer to join LIV Golf, which is our next talking point.

LIV Golf to Improve

Many believe the LIV Tour is for has-beens, but that can’t be said after signing Rahm.

The Spaniard accepted an eyewatering amount of money to join the rebel league, which already features some of the world’s best golfers.

We’re unsure how it can be called a tour of has-beens when it features the 2023 PGA Championship winner, Brooks Koepka, and it now features the 2023 Masters winner Rahm.

Cameron Smith and Phil Mickelson are also recent major winners, so we see this tour going from strength to strength.

All it needs is a major broadcasting deal, and it could rival the viewership numbers of the PGA Tour. The only thing stopping that is many countries are not broadcasting LIV golf on major channels.

There are golf odds available for all LIV events, and bettors should expect Rahm to be a favorite for most of them.
