There are only six events remaining in the FedEx Cup regular season, so several golfers will be hoping to secure playoff berths in the 2023 Barbasol Championship beginning on Thursday morning. Kentucky is hosting the event for the fifth time, with upwards of 50 DP World Tour pros heading to Keene Trace Golf Club in the second year of the co-sanctioned event between the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. The top-ranked DP World Tour golfer in the 2023 Barbasol Championship field is Julien Guerrier (No. 32), but he is a 55-1 longshot in the 2023 Barbasol Championship odds. He is joined by Aaron Cockerill (No. 40) and Marcus Helligkilde (No. 44), who are 70-1 and 55-1, respectively.
Taylor Pendrith is the 18-1 favorite on the PGA odds board, joining Lucas Glover (22-1) as two golfers sitting just outside the top 100 in the world rankings. McClure's model predicted Jon Rahm would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. And at the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm's second career major victory heading into the weekend. In addition, the model included Nick Taylor in its best bets to win the 2023 RBC Canadian Open. That bet hit at +7000, and for the entire tournament, McClure's best bets returned nearly $1,900. McClure's best bets also included Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson and Rickie Fowler (14-1) finishing on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Top 2023 Barbasol Championship predictions
One major surprise the model is calling for at the Barbasol Championship 2023: Glover, the highest-ranked golfer in the field, struggles this week and barely cracks the top 10. He is coming off a pair of impressive performances, finishing tied for fourth at the Rocket Mortgage Classic and tied for sixth at the John Deere Classic. However, Glover has been extremely inconsistent this season, missing the cut in 10 of his 22 events.
He has only finished in the top 25 on three occasions, so his recent results are complete outliers. The 43-year-old is also having to deal with the physical demands of playing a four-round tournament for the third week in a row. SportsLine's model has identified a plethora of golfers that is prefers over Glover, especially since he is one of the favorites.
Another surprise: Kevin Streelman, a 30-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. He has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. Streelman missed the cut at the Travelers Championship, but he made the cut at the U.S. Open and the John Deere Classic in the last three weeks.
He also made a run at the Charles Schwab Challenge at the end of May, finishing tied for ninth at 4 under. The 44-year-old veteran ranks inside the top 50 on the PGA Tour in proximity, and most of the golfers ahead of him are not in this week's field.
