Wolves to pile misery on hosts

Brentford’s form has nosedived over the past month and they head into this match on the back of five defeats in six Premier League matches.

A raft of injuries and suspensions have contributed to this disappointing run of results, with Bryan Mbeumo one of 13 players who are potentially unavailable for this contest.

Thomas Frank has seen his side slip into the bottom half of the table and failure to turn things around shortly could see his side sucked into the relegation battle.

Visitors Wolves are in buoyant mood after their 2-1 Christmas Eve victory over Chelsea at Molineux, a result that extended their unbeaten streak at home to seven matches.

It has been a different story on the road for Gary O’Neil’s side, who have lost their last four and have tasted success on the road just twice in the league this season.

However, confidence should be high in the camp after that Chelsea win and there is also the chance Pedro Neto will make his return from injury here, boosting the attacking options at O'Neil's disposal.

With the long list of absentees for Brentford, this looks like a great chance for Wolves to improve their away record.

Brazilian to hit the mark

One player who has been key for Wolves is Matheus Cunha, who has scored five goals in 18 Premier League appearances and is his club’s second-highest goalscorer this season.

Four of the Brazil forward’s strikes have come away from home and he will relish the chance to take on a Brentford side who have not kept a clean sheet in their last seven matches.

Bookings underpin bet builder

The first leg of this bet builder is for there to be over 5.5 cards in the match, which looks feasible given the disciplinary records of both teams.

Wolves have been shown 49 yellows in the league this season, nine more than Brentford, while the Black Country club have also received three red cards.

The Bees were handed their first red of the campaign last time out against Aston Villa, when Ben Mee was given his marching orders, and a fiery affair could be on the cards on Wednesday.

Leg two is Brentford’s Christian Norgaard to commit two or more fouls. The Dane has 23 fouls to his name in the league this season, the most of any player in Brentford’s squad, and not surprisingly he also tops the club charts for yellow cards with six, four of them in his past seven matches

Rounding off the bet builder is Wolves forward Hwang Hee-chan to have two or more shots. The South Korean, who leads his club’s scoring charts with eight league goals, has had 30 attempts this season.

Only Cunha has had more efforts at goal for Wolves and Hwang is certainly thriving having been given more attacking responsibility since O’Neil took charge.

Brentford vs Wolves tip 3: Bet builder: Over 5.5 cards; Christian Norgaard to commit two or more fouls; Hwang Hee-chan to have two or more shots @ 6/1 with Paddy Power.
