Bunbury horse racing tips

Race 1. (15:29) Tabtouch Westspeed Platinum (1675m)

#6 – Wonder Weapon

Wonder Weapon has taking her time to win another race, but she has been close recently.

The four-year-old mare by Mashino ran third at Ascot last time out, which should be an ideal form guide.

Carrying 54kg makes it easier for her.

Race 2. (16:04) Greenfields Lodge BM66 (1675m)

#2 – Villeins

Villeins is a past winner fresh up and he could hit the ground running on Saturday.

The son of Domesday owns five wins and five placings from 18 starts, and he would love some moisture in the surface.

Getting 2kg off his back adds to his appeal.

Race 3. (16:43) Boq Bunbury Handicap (1000m)

#5 – Salt Lake Shake

Salt Lake Shake gets all favours off the inside draw, which could see him go one better than last start.

The three-year-old gelding by Bradbury’s Luck has made a nice start to his career, including a win at Northam.

A repeat of that is enough to win on Saturday.

Race 4. (17:23) Nixon Electrical Plate (1100m)

#8 – This’ll Show Ya

This’ll Show Ya ran third on debut at Ascot, and she has since won a trial.

The two-year-old filly by Showtime gets a luxury weight of 54kg for her return, and despite drawing wide, she’s our top pick.

Punters could get each-way odds on race day.

Race 5. (18:05) Silverado Bunbury BM72 (1675m)

#7 – Autumn Rebel

Autumn Rebel is gunning for four consecutive wins and it’s tough to bet against the promising colt.

The three-year-old has done plenty of racing, with 10 starts for four wins and a placing. That’s a positive ahead of this race.

Carrying 54kg makes him the one to beat.

Race 6. (18:42) Furphy 1MW (1000m)

#9 – Rupert’s Empire

Value could be with Rupert’s Empire, who is a proven fresh up specialist with three starts for two wins and a placing.

The four-year-old gelding by Winning Rupert also loves running over the distance, but he could be forgotten about with bookmakers.

Look for each-way odds.

Race 7. (19:17) Tabtouch Better Your Bet BM66 (1200m)

#2 – Trade War

Trade War won well fresh up at Albany before placing at Ascot and Pinjarra.

That form is tidy enough for this company, and although it’s not an easy field, he’s a quality type on his day.

Getting 2kg off his back is an added bonus.

Race 8. (19:54) Bisley Workwear Cyril Flower Stakes (1200m)

#9 – Live to Tell

Live to Tell is a nice type in the making after posting two wins and two placings from four starts.

The three-year-old filly won at Group 3 level, and she comes off a trial win at Lark Hill when beating Bustler.

That’s an encouraging performance ahead of her fresh up run.

Race 9. (20:30) Bunbury Cup Sat 1MW (1400m)

#2 – Budgerigar

It might be a tough name to pronounce, but the four-year-old gelding is a quality and consistent type.

The son of Epaulette owns four wins and six placings from 14 starts, which is an excellent overall record.

Punters could get each-way odds on race day.
