Morphettville horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:52) Adelaide Galvanising Industries BM68 (1550m)

#1 – Prince Jofra @ $2.80

Prince Jofra comes off a win and he’s good enough to keep his winning form intact.

The five-year-old son of Barbados is a seven-time winner, including a win at the track, which is ideal form.

Getting 3kg off his back is ideal.

Race 2. (13:27) Skycity BM82 (1250m)

#3 – Chicago Storm @ $3.20

Chicago Storm returned from a spell in find order with a win at Morphettville, which is excellent form.

The five-year-old owns three wins and three placings from six starts at the track, so he doesn’t need to improve to win.

Getting a 3kg claimer in the saddle boosts his chances.

Race 3. (14:02) Tab Australian Trainers Trust BM64 (1000m)

#1 – Cover Star @ $5.50

Cover Star has been right around the mark with two wins and five placings from 10 starts.

The four-year-old mare by Star Witness has yet to race on the track, but her win at Ballarat last time out is a good form guide.

She gets weight off her back to help with the weight.

Race 4. (14:37) Triple M BM78 (2400m)

#1 – The Nephew @ $2.70

The Nephew didn’t fire at Caulfield last start, but he won at Morphettville in his prior start.

He gets back to this track and we don’t think he’ll have too much trouble winning considering his ability.

60kg isn’t easy, but he should pull away from them.

Race 5. (15:12) Spring Racing Carnival C2 (1250m)

#5 – Run Like Hell @ $2.80

Run Like Hell was desperately unlucky when running third last time out after getting trapped between runners.

The four-year-old is a smart type in the making, and we expect her to bounce back with clear running room in the straight.

$2.80 is a fair price for the favourite.

Race 6. (15:47) Furphy BM64 (1950m)

#8 – Leader’s Pride @ $5.50

Leader’s Pride went close to winning at Gawler last time out, and he’s capable of going one better.

The five-year-old son of Free Eagle is only a one-time winner from 12 starts, but there isn’t much depth in this field.

Dropping to 52.5kg gives him every chance.

Race 7. (16:27) The Fotobase Group BM70 (1300m)

#6 – Cool Magnum @ $4.20

Cool Magnum looks to cap off three consecutive second placings with a win, and he has every chance of beating this field.

The son of Magnus does a lot of his racing on the track, and with 11 starts worth of experience here, he should run well.

Weight comes off his back, so take the each-way odds.

Race 8. (17:05) Croser BM64 (1000m)

#1 – Alpha Flight @ $3.80

Alpha Flight’s form has tapered off a touch, but he shouldn’t be overlooked.

The four-year-old son of Akeed Mofeed owns three wins and four placings from 11 starts, so his best form is good enough.

3kg comes off his back, so take the odds.

Race 9. (17:45) Grand Syndicates BM64 (1400m)

#2 – Easy Campese @ $7.50

Easy Campese is a five-time winner, with three coming over the distance, so the stats read well.

The six-year-old son of Sidestep has yet to fire in two starts at Morphettville, but dropping in weight could see his best form return.

We’re happy to include him at the odds.
