Thursday Horse Racing Tips

We have expert betting tips for the cards this Thursday at Bendigo and Wagga.

There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Thursday meetings and we have our best bets across the two cards.

Bendigo

Race 2. (13:30) Adroit Insurance Maiden (1400m)

#1 – Divus Romulus @ $2.50

Divus Romulus ran seventh on debut in Ireland before coming to Australia, and his form could improve as the betting suggests.

The Nick Ryan-trained four-year-old was a $151 chance on that occasion when running in a strong race, and his jumpout form has been solid since.

It pays to follow the money, and it has come thick and fast.

Race 4. (14:30) Catanach’s Jewellers Maiden (1100m)

#7 – Miss Black Diamond @ $3.60

Miss Black Diamond has yet to win from seven starts, but the four-year-old mare is knocking on the door.

She ran three consecutive second placings before running fourth at Sandown, which is a better form guide than it looks.

Barrier three is ideal and punters get fair odds.

Race 6. (15:30) Drake International BM64 (1000m)

#7 – Luna Cat @ $6.50

Luna Cat is a model of consistency, and although she hasn’t won in a while, she’s worth backing.

The five-year-old mare owns two wins and seven placings overall, including a win at her only start at Bendigo.

Getting back to this track could see her form improve.

Race 7. (16:00) Bet365 Protest Promise BM64 (1600m)

#12 – Too Big @ $2.80

We loved the debut win of Too Big, and he looks likely to rise through the grades.

The big son of So You Think showed excellent natural speed to lead throughout and land big bets, and they could come again.

His current odds could drop to around $2, so take the price.

Wagga

Race 2. (13:45) D & S Taber Electrical C1 (1000m)

#1 – Black Tahitian @ $4.80

Black Tahitian is never too far away from the mark, including nine starts for a win and four placings.

The Mitchell Beer-trained son of Deep Field ran third at Corowa last time out, so he doesn’t need to improve on that effort.

Punters get each-way odds to snap up.

Race 4. (14:55) Lambpro BM58 (1000m)

#6 – Galbalan @ $5

Galbalan does some of his best racing fresh up, including three placings from four attempts.

The six-year-old hits the ground running, and he also has good form at the track and distance, which bodes well.

Having Jason Lyon in the saddle boosts his chances.

Race 5. (15:35) WDF Accounting BM66 (1600m)

#2 – Spitfire @ $4.50

The Matthew Dale-trained gelding comes off two tough runs at Rosehill, but he will find this much easier.

He won at Goulburn fresh up by two lengths, which is a more telling form guide, and it came in this grade.

Getting 2kg off his back helps, and punters get each-way odds from bookmakers.

Race 7. (16:45) Union Club Hotel Handicap (1200m)

#4 – Ten Bells @ $5.50

Ten Bells hasn’t shown up in Highway Handicap races this preparation but allow another chance back at the provincials.

The six-year-old just needs a confidence boost to win this race, and she won her only start at Wagga.

We’re happy to take the risk at the current odds.
