Celtics vs. Heat NBA Player Props, Odds: Picks & Predictions for Sunday

We examine if the Miami Heat can keep momentum going at home or if the Boston Celtics will play spoiler in South Beach as we make our Celtics vs. Heat NBA player props based on the best NBA odds.

Even on Super Bowl Sunday, we can't overlook the NBA action! Two games are scheduled in the Association today, featuring a prime-time showdown between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat in South Beach.

Following a seven-game losing streak, the Heat have turned things around, winning four of their last five games and holding the No. 8 seed in the East with a record of 28-24. Meanwhile, boasting the best record in the NBA at 40-12, the Celtics lead the Eastern Conference. Although Boston has triumphed in both regular-season matchups against Miami this season, the Heat are gaining momentum and are motivated to continue their resurgence against a familiar opponent that eliminated them in last season's Eastern Conference Finals.

Here are our best Celtics vs. Heat NBA player props and NBA picks (odds via our best NBA betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Celtics vs. Heat props

Jaylen Brown Over 18.5 points (-105 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Brown’s points have taken a dip over the last two weeks, as he’s averaged just 16.3 points across his last seven outings. He’s been efficient from the floor overall, shooting better than 50%, but his struggles have come from beyond the arc. Brown hit 4-of-8 triples against Miami in his last meeting with the Heat, but he’s gone 1-of-16 since, including 0-of-9 across his last four games.

Fortunately for Brown, the Heat allow the seventh-highest 3-point percentage to opponents at home (37.4%). Brown has only scored 19 or more points twice in his last seven games, but he’s hit that mark in nine of his last 12 overall against Miami, scoring at least 18 points in 11 of those contests. Brown’s recent struggles are due primarily to a slump from 3-point range, but this afternoon’s matchup offers a perfect bounce-back opportunity. We’ll gladly take the Over for a line that’s fallen far too low.

Jimmy Butler Over 19.5 points (-110 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Let’s talk about another line that’s fallen far too low - Butler’s points prop. We’ll comfortably bet the Over for a guy who’s scored at least 20 points in seven of 11 games against the Celtics over the last five seasons, including three of five at home. In that span, he’s averaged 21.8 points.

Butler has scored 20 or more in six of his last seven on the season, and he’s done it in 20 of 37 games overall. He’s averaging 21.4 points per game this season, and the good news for this prop is that Butler averages 23.1 points per game at home compared to 19.5 on the road. This is a familiar matchup for Butler, who’s faced the Celtics 33 times in the regular season and 26 times in the playoffs in his career.

Derrick White Over 2.5 3-pointers (+108 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

As mentioned above, we’re all over Jaylen Brown to get back on track as a 3-point shooter today because of Miami’s generous perimeter defense. In addition to the 3-point percentage allowed, Miami has surrendered the 10th most 3-pointers made (13.5), including the fourth most at home (13.8).

White is averaging a career-best 2.7 triples on 39.8% shooting from beyond the arc this season, and he’s knocked down at least three triples in 24 of 48 games this season. White has made 2.8 triples on 7.3 attempts on the road this season compared to 2.6 made on 6.3 attempts at home. He went 0-of-4 against Washington on Friday, but White has averaged 2.9 triples over his last 13 games and hit this mark in nine of them. He’s averaged 2.8 triples in six games against Miami since joining the Celtics, and he’s hit this mark in both games played against the Heat this season. This is an easy Over, and the plus-money odds make it that much sweeter.
