After a game two rainout, Arizona evened it up with their own 7-1 win. In the delayed Monday finale, the Diamondbacks dropped the series with a 6-4 defeat. Alek Thomas put up two RBI while Corbin Carroll (three hits) and Gabriel Moreno each had one RBI and a run. 

As starting pitcher for Tuesday’s matchup, the Diamondbacks will send out Zach Davies. This year over 17 starts Davies is 2-5 with a 6.81 ERA and 69 Ks in 79.1 innings. Davies is 1-1 with a 7.26 ERA in his last seven starts.

Over on the White Sox’ side, they took a tough 3-2 loss to the Red Sox in the Friday opener of their weekend “Laundry Series.” Chicago struck back with a 1-0 Saturday win to even it up, then took the series with a 3-2 Sunday victory. The Sox got two RBI from Elvis Andrus as well as an RBI and a run from Gavin Sheets. 

As starting pitcher for Tuesday’s game it’ll be Jose Urena. This year across his eight starts Urena is 0-6 with a 7.27 ERA and 24 Ks in 34.2 innings. Urena has gone 0-2 with a 4.41 ERA over his last three starts.

I’m going to take a stab on the White Sox, but I’m probably not touching this one. Urena has had plenty of ups and downs in September; he’s got one bad start and two good ones in his last trio. The bad one came with 6.1 innings and six earned in a loss to Minnesota. In the other pair Urena was much better with a combined 10.0 innings and two earned runs on eight hits and two walks. He still went 0-1 in that pair however, so Urena will need some help from the bats and pen in this one. The White Sox haven’t scored more than three runs in any of the last five games though, so I’m staying away.
