Formula 1 prediction: Odds and best bet for Australian GP

Formula 1 heads to Australia this week for the third race of the 2023 campaign.

Red Bull has proven to be in a class of its own this season, taking the top two spots in each of the first two races. Each driver, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, have one win each ahead of the Australian race.

Can anyone else dethrone Red Bull for at least a week?

Let’s take a peak at the top 10 odds to win and then I’ll break down my best bet for the race.

Australian Grand Prix best bet

Unless you think the Red Bull cars are going to be involved in a crash or a major violation resulting in a penalty, there’s no value on betting on the “winner” market.

So, instead, I’m going to take a shot at betting on the next most obvious result; a Fernando Alonso top three finish.

Sure, everyone’s talking about how Red Bull has finished first and second in the first two races, but not as many people are talking about how it has been Fernando Alonso from Aston Martin who finished in third both times.

Not only has he finished in third in both races, but it hasn’t even been close in either. At the Bahrain GP, there was just less than 10 seconds between him and fourth place. At the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, there was just less than five seconds between him and fourth place.

Let’s bet on him to finish on the podium once again.
