Gaming Commission accepts MGM Springfield’s late sports betting application
MGM submitted its application for an on-site sportsbook 48 hours after the deadline. The commission voted to accept the application. Encore Boston Harbor will receive 50 sports betting kiosks next week. Mayflower Marathon at MGM Springfield was a success. The state's three casinos will host a public hearing on Category 1 applications on December 5. It will be held at the Plainridge Park in Plainville and EnCore Boston Harbour. They will get in-person sports gambling operations. A law passed this summer says casinos should get them. MGM's sports book will open in August 2021.
