‘I can still play’: Alex Chiasson talks free agent status and his hope of returning to the Canucks
Alex Chiasson is a free agent and is skating with his former teammates ahead of NHL training camps in September. He is in Vancouver and wants to play for the Canucks. Chiason came to Vancouver on a one-year deal signed before the start of the season last October. The 31-years-old winger posted 22 points in 67 games last season. He also had a strong finish with 11 points across the team's final 12 games. His chances of earning a new contract are slim, but he believes he can still play and contribute. Bruce Boudreau is his favourite coach. If he doesn't get a contract, he wants a team in the NHL.
