Kembla Grange Racing Tips

Race 1. (12:50) Thirroul Midway Maiden (1000m)

#8 – Good Lieutenant @ $4.20

The three-year-old gelding has shown pace at times and we’re happy to stick with him for one more run.

He ran second at Gosford in wet conditions last year, which is an excellent form guide, and although only fair since, he hasn’t faced easy fields.

He should find this more to his liking.

Race 2. (13:25) Shellharbour Maiden (1200m)

#10 – The King @ $5

The King hasn’t done much wrong in two career starts, so we’re happy to have him in our selections.

He ran second on debut at Randwick behind Libertad, and that form has since been franked at a high level, before running fifth last start.

The form checks out and punters get value odds.

Race 3. (14:00) Kiama BM68 (2000m)

#2 – Roccaforte @ $4.50

Roccaforte is knocking on the door of another win following consecutive placings at Canberra and Newcastle.

The Richard Litt-trained four-year-old owns two wins and seven placings overall, so he’s rarely too far away from the action.

We’re not surprised by his odds firming throughout the week.

Race 4. (14:35) Happy 60 Judy Graham Maiden (1300m)

#1 – Iron Man @ $1.85

Iron Man is at short odds for a reason following a fourth behind Secret Revolution, which is excellent maiden form.

The three-year-old son of Exosphere owns two second placings from three starts, so it’s only a matter of time before he wins.

Barrier two is ideal and the $1.85 could firm.

Race 5. (15:10) Colourite Maiden Handicap (1300m)

#1 – Lalaguna @ $5.50

Lalaguna is a runner we have followed at almost every start, so we’re not going to jump off her back now.

The three-year-old daughter of I Am Invincible owns four placings from 10 starts, and she wasn’t far away when fourth at Randwick last start.

$5.50 is a fair price from bookmakers, so take the value.

Race 6. (15:45) Jack Primmer Electronics C1 (1300m)

#3 – Strombus @ $4.80

Strombus has been around the mark lately, including two third placings from three starts this preparation.

The four-year-old son of Territories is only a one-race winner from 13 starts, but his best racing comes on rain-affected tracks.

Luck is needed from barrier 11, but we’re happy with the each-way odds available.

Race 7. (16:20) All Round Tree & Garden Care Maiden (1500m)

#7 – The Englishman @ $2.60

The Englishman owns three placings from five starts, so it’s only a matter of time before he breaks through for the win.

He is a son of Tavistock out of a Kiwi mare, so the breeding is there, and he wasn’t beaten far as a $1.85 chance last start.

We expect him to be right around the mark and $2.60 is a generous offer from bookmakers.

Race 8. (16:55) Wollongong BM64 (1500m)

#7 – Invincible Legend @ $6

Invincible Legend was too good for them when winning by 1.5 lengths last time out, and we expect him to rise through the grades.

The three-year-old has shown that he can handle wet surfaces, and with conditions in the heavy range, that’s a bonus.

$6 for the favourite is an excellent price.
