Tuesday Horse Racing Tips

We have expert betting tips for the cards this Tuesday at Newcastle and Donald.

There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Tuesday meetings and we have our best bets across the two cards.

Newcastle

Race 1. (13:20) Jennings Print Midway Maiden (900m)

#4 – Drums of War @ $2.60

Drums of War is on debut following a trial win at Muswellbrook, which came impressively by 4.3 lengths.

The three-year-old gelding by American Pharoah opened at $3.20 before being heavily backed, which isn’t surprising.

He only needs to show good early pace from the wide draw to win.

Race 3. (14:35) Hunter Valley Premium Meats C1 (1400m)

#4 – Scholl Deep @ $2.50

School Deep got off the mark with a win at Gunnedah, and she could rise through the grades.

The three-year-old daughter of Kermadec won by four lengths as a $1.60 chance, following a second placing on debut at Newcastle.

Kerrin McEvoy rides, which is a good sign.

Race 5. (15:50) The Lawn Shed Maiden (1300m)

#6 – Autumnmation @ $5

Autumnmation was only 2.8 lengths behind the winner on debut at Canterbury, so dropping in class helps.

The three-year-old filly for Chris Waller had looked good at the trials without winning, and it shouldn’t take her long to win.

Carrying 55.5kg is ideal, and punters get each-way odds.

Race 6. (16:25) Australian Bloodstock Maiden (1300m)

#6 – Vomo Island @ $2.90

Vomo Island showed good consistency last preparation when notching three placings from three starts.

The three-year-old colt ran third at Randwick last time out behind Tannhauser, which is a great form guide for midweek racing at Newcastle.

We expected him to be the favourite and late money should come.

Donald

Race 2. (13:00) Pacific Fuel Solutions Maiden (1624m)

#12 – Sunsets @ $3.10

Sunsets should have won by now, but we’re happy to give him another chance.

The Busuttin/Young-trained colt by Dundeel ran second at Sandown two back, and although disappointing last start, it wasn’t an easy maiden race.

$3.10 is a fair price for the loose favourite.

Race 4. (14:00) Donald Community Bank Maiden (1354m)

#12 – Spellmaster @ $1.70

Punters must take short odds for Spellmaster, but the three-year-old colt should be winning.

The son of Savabeel ran second at Bendigo and Sandown before finishing fifth behind Masonry, which is a level above this field.

$1.70 could firm to around $1.55 on race day.

Race 6. (15:00) Donald Steel Metaland BM58 (1354m)

#10 – Royalz @ $4.80

Royalz looks to win consecutive races after scoring at Sale by a nose earlier this month.

The four-year-old mare by Almanzor owns a win and four placings from eight starts, so she has been right around the mark.

Punters get each way odds and they’re worth snapping up.

Race 8. (16:00) Goldacres BM58 (1624m)

#5 – Paululu @ $3.70

Apart from his win three starts back, Paululu hasn’t had much luck, and he didn’t much luck that day either.

The Patrick Payne-trained runner keeps finding trouble or travels wide, so we’re hoping Billy Egan can find a nice spot.

He battles on gamely every time, so he’s worth backing.
