Goals the issue for Hatters

West Ham United have made a bright start to the season and will be looking to go top of the Premier League table with three points at Luton Town this evening.

The Hatters are still seeking their first points of the season and they may well have to wait beyond this week to get off the mark.

After the remarkable achievement of securing promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history, there was no hiding the scale of the challenge ahead for Luton.

Now mixing it at the top table of English football, manager Rob Edwards and his side have already had a taste of what is to come over the next nine months.

A 4-1 defeat at Brighton was a disappointing start for the Hatters and quickly followed by a 3-0 defeat away to Chelsea

Goals clearly look to be the issue for the Premier League newcomers, with Luton failing to score from open play in their first two outings.

A Carlton Morris penalty against the Seagulls is all that Luton fans have had to cheer about so far but it is set to be a great atmosphere for this first top-flight home game at Kenilworth Road.

West Ham are unbeaten in their first three fixtures of the season and are going in search of a third consecutive win.

Considering Luton’s shortcomings in attack, a Hammers victory to nil offers good value here.

Luton vs West Ham tip 1: West Ham and both teams to score (no) @ 9/5 with Betfred

Bowen hits the ground running

The hero of last season’s Europa Conference League final, Jarrod Bowen has managed to pick up this term where he left off.

He scored in the 1-1 opening game at Bournemouth and also found the back of the net last time out against the previously unbeaten Brighton

Versatile forward Bowen is brimming with confidence at the moment – and against the Hatters he looks likely to add to his two goals.

Luton vs West Ham tip 2: Jarrod Bowen to score anytime @ 12/5 with Betfred

Expect goals at Kenilworth Road

With West Ham in free-scoring form and Luton shipping goals, this could well be a one-sided contest at Kenilworth Road.

Luton have conceded seven goals in their first two outings of the Premier League campaign, while the visitors have found the back of the net seven times in their first three matches.

The Hammers should have the firepower to make sure there are over 2.5 total goals in this contest, while the card market is also worth considering as part of a bet builder.

Looking back to last season in the Championship, no Luton player picked up more yellow cards than Carlton Morris, with 11.

While Morris is yet to pick up a booking this season, the striker could well get frustrated with a lack of supply tonight and could find himself in hot water with officials again.

Luton vs West Ham tip 3: Bet builder: Over 2.5 total goals and Carlton Morris to be carded @ 4/1 with Betfred
