Man City vs Newcastle Bet Builder Tips

Phil Foden to score, Callum Wilson Over 0.5 SOT, Joelinton to be booked

After a frustrating period, Phil Foden is back in Pep Guardiola's good books after rediscovering his goalscoring touch.

The 22-year-old has bagged three goals in his last two games, including City's third in the 4-1 league rout of Bournemouth last weekend and then a brace in the mid-week 3-0 FA Cup victory away to Bristol City.

Foden should be confident - well, as confident as you can be under Pep - of a fourth consecutive start this weekend and catches the eye at 3/1 to find the back of the net for the third game running.

My other two selections both involve Newcastle players in the Shots On Target and Booking markets.

Callum Wilson (4/5) has had at least one shot on target in each of his last five league games, amassing eight in total during this run.

In the 3-3 thriller at home to Man City he scored, had four shots, two of which were on goal.

Despite missing six of Newcastle's 23 matches so far this term, no Toon player has accumulated more shots on target in the top-flight this season than Wilson (19), while only Miguel Almiron has more goals on the board.

Wilson's teammate Joelinton has enjoyed a very impressive season to date, yet it's his tenacity and fondness for a card that we're banking on here.

Only João Palhinha (10) has received more Premier League yellows so far this season than Joelinton who has nine in just 21 league games this term - including August's meeting at St James' Park - and was cautioned in the League Cup final last weekend.

In a match where Newcastle will have to be patient at times given Man City's incredible ball retention, Joelinton looks good value at 2/1 to lose his rag at some point and be booked for the fourth time in five matches.
