MLB Player Props Today

Freddy Peralta o6.5 Strikeouts (-125), BetMGM

Across his last five turns through the rotation, Freddy Peralta has a 33.6% strikeout rate and a 1.06 WHIP. He has experienced this level of success despite the fact that he has only a 56.1% first-pitch-strike rate during that period. Today, he faces a weak Chicago Cubs lineup that ranks 13th in strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching since June 15. According to props.cash, eight of the last 14 right-handed starters to face the Cubs have hit the over relative to their market number. In an afternoon affair with Mike Estabrook calling balls and strikes, this is a worthwhile investment.

Adolis Garcia o1.5 Total Bases (-115), DraftKings

Adolis Garcia has been on a tear of late, eclipsing this market number in seven of his last 10 games played. Kutter Crawford has rather extreme reverse splits this season, allowing a .280 opponent batting average against right-handed batters. Garcia has proven himself plenty capable against right-handed pitching in 2023, with an .839 OPS and a 127 wRC+ in these situations. Trust him to get the job done in this spot.

MLBDFS Pick’em

Masataka Yoshida less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

PrizePicks has finally returned Masataka Yoshida to the list of available options in this market, allowing us to go back to one of our most profitable recommendations this season. Entering play, Yoshida has not struck out in any of his last four games played and has been seeing the ball extremely well – posting a .600 batting average and a 319 wRC+ in that small sample size. Yoshida has a tough matchup tonight against Nathan Eovaldi, but Eovaldi has struck out left-handed batters far less often than right-handed batters in 2023. This is a good look on Thursday night.
