Mohamed Salah Next Club Odds

Mohamed Salah came close to leaving Liverpool last summer and the best betting sites are not entirely ruling out a departure 12 months later.

In the wake of Jurgen Klopp's announcement that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, the question has arose as to whether Salah will follow in his footsteps out of Anfield.

Salah returned from the Africa Cup of Nations with a goal from the bench in the Reds' 4-1 victory over Brentford, before being rested for their win over Luton by the same score at Anfield in the next match.

Liverpool fans will hope his return to the starting XI is imminent and that his future remains at Anfield.

Ex-Liverpool defender Phil Babb gave his verdict on Salah's importance to the Reds exclusively to Gambling.com : "Oh absolutely, who wouldn’t (want to keep players like Van Dijk and Salah at Liverpool). And I think that is the first topic of conversation of whoever comes through the door.

"You know, do FSG have a plan to remove some of the players that are getting towards the end of their careers? Do they want to keep the superstars? What is their remit? That’s from a fan’s point of view.

"The likes of Salah, who would want to get rid him? He’s still banging in goals, even (in) his cameo the other day he always finds the back of the net."

But, where will Salah be plying his trade come next season? Let’s take a look at the latest betting odds before we run through the various contenders for his signature.

Saudi Arabia Desperate To Sign Salah

Saudi Arabian clubs will not give up on signing Salah, even more so with the news of Klopp's upcoming departure.

The major teams in that country have grown accustomed to getting what they want, and it seems like money is virtually no object for Al-Ittihad and some of their domestic rivals.

The powers that be in Saudi Arabia are particularly keen to land Salah since he is the most high-profile Arab and Muslim footballer in the world.

Al-Ittihad could submit another huge bid in the close season, or one of their fellow Pro League sides could test Liverpool’s stance.

If Salah does depart Merseyside in the summer, Saudi Arabia is his most likely destination.

Football betting sites have moved their odds considerably into 7/4 for this eventuality, from the 9/1 that was available in the past.

Real Madrid Could Look To Bolster Attacking Options

As the odds above suggest, if Salah does move, surely he will be playing for a Saudi Arabian club in the 2024/25 campaign.

However, odds are still available for three other clubs, starting with Real Madrid at 16/1.

The Blancoshave not had everything their own way so far this season, but they look to finally have their grip on La Liga.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have a 1-0 lead over RB Leipzig in their last 16 of the Champions League and lead Girona by six points in Spain's top flight.

A move for Salah is hard to envisage, not least because Madrid are probably holding out for Kylian Mbappe.

It is also doubtful whether they would be willing to meet Liverpool’s demands for the Egypt international.

Paris Saint-Germain Always Keen To Splash Cash On Stars

Paris Saint-Germain’s galacticotransfer policy has not served them very well over the last decade or so, at least with regards to their exploits in Europe.

However, it remains to be seen whether they have completely moved on from their star-studded approach to recruitment.

Salah’s quality is beyond doubt, and he possesses plenty of experience too. If Mbappe does indeed depart the Parc des Princes, we can expect PSG to look for a high-profile replacement.

A bid looks like it will not be forthcoming, though, hence the odds of 16/1.

PSG will instead focus on trying to persuade their Ballon d’Or contender Mbappe to sign another new deal with the Ligue 1 champions, with his current contract set to run out on June 30.

Barcelona Unlikely To Prise Salah Away From Liverpool

Barcelona, who are 25/1 with betting apps, have work to do this season.

They are by no means guaranteed to get past Napoli in the last 16 of the Champions League after drawing 1-1 in the first leg, while Xavi Hernandez’s side are well off the top of La Liga.

With Xavi set to leave at the end of the season, it would be down to the powers above to negotiate the transfer unless a replacement is installed early in the summer.

Nevertheless, it is unknown how much more will be made available for Xavi's successor given Barcelona’s well-known financial difficulties.

The Blaugranahave had no problem signing ageing players in recent years, but they would be better advised to focus on attackers younger than Salah, who - for all his brilliance - turns 32 in June of this year.
