The game starts at 2:30 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN 2.

This is the third game of the season for both schools. The Sooners are coming off another great defensive performance but an up-and-down offensive performance against the SMU Mustangs. Tulsa is coming off a tough 43-10 loss to the Washington Huskies but is 1-1 on the season.

Tulsa led by former Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson brings another defensive test for the Sooners. Wilson is one of the best playcallers in the country and has been for more than a decade. Offensively the Sooners hope to get back on track after a rocky game this past Saturday.

Advice and prediction

The 28.5 is again another big number for the Sooners. But this one, I would expect the Sooners to cover. Tulsa’s defense isn’t very good, ranking 104th in the nation through two games. After Oklahoma’s lackluster performance on offense against SMU and they should be motivated to put up a ton of points.

Defensively the Sooners will be tested, but not nearly to the extent it was against the Mustangs.

The Golden Hurricane have a very good run game and may have to play the Sooners without their starting quarterback who has been injured. However, I don’t expect the Sooners to allow more than 14 points. Especially if the group keeps the same focus and intensity we’ve seen through the first two weeks of the season.

I think your best bet would be to take the point spread between the three bets. Yes, it is a lot, but the Sooners should perform well before conference play begins

The Sooners were 5-8 against the spread in 2022 but are 2-0 to start the 2023 season. Oklahoma was 6-6-1 against the point total and are 1-1 this season.

Prediction: 51-10. Sooners cover, and they hit the over.
