The game starts at 11:00 a.m. CT and can be seen on ABC.

This is the sixth game of the season for both schools. The Sooners are coming off a dominant overall performance against the Iowa State Cyclones in their Big 12 home opener. Texas is coming off a big win over the Kansas Jayhawks.

This is finally the game where we find out just how good the Sooners actually are. Texas can match the Sooners’ talent for talent. The Longhorns come in with the No. 43 ranked offense and No. 17 ranked defense. They have a great offensive and defensive line. This isn’t the Longhorns of recent memory. This will be a big-time test for the Sooners.

Advice and prediction

I just have a general belief you stay away from point spreads in rivalry games. Too many things can happen in a game like this. The 6.5 spread is about what I would have expected it to be, given how the teams have performed up to this point.

I think your best bet would be to take the over. I think this will be a relatively high-scoring game between these two teams, so I would either take the over or just bet on the money line.

The Sooners were 5-8 against the spread in 2022 but are 5-0 to start the 2023 season.

Prediction: 38-27. Texas covers and the over hits.
