PFL 3 2023 date, time, odds, schedule & card for Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. Shane Burgos

Featherweights and welterweights will face off next for the Professional Fighters League as the 2023 season continues. Defending lightweight champion Olivier Aubin-Mercier faces fellow UFC alum Shane Burgos in the main event on April 14.

The third event of the 2023 season for the PFL will be inside The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas and is on ESPN+.

Aubin-Mercier turned pro in 2011. A Quebec native, "The Canadian Gangster" lost The Ultimate Fighter Nations tournament in 2014 but ended up amassing a UFC record of 7-5. Signing with the PFL in 2020, Aubin-Mercier has won six in a row, ending a three-fight losing streak in the UFC. Last November, the 34-year-old beat Stevie Ray to win the 2022 PFL lightweight tournament.

Burgos turned pro in 2013 and joined the UFC in 2016. "Hurricane" was 8-3 with the promotion and decided to test free agency on a two-fight win streak. Signing with the PFL in 2022, Burgos is ready to make an impact, but Aubin-Mercier wants to halt the hype surrounding him.

“Am I scared for Shane Burgos? Yes I am,” Aubin-Mercier told MMA Junkie Radio. “I do not think he’s going to win the tournament. Even though he was the best in the tournament, I do not think he’s going to win the tournament, because he’s too – he takes risks. He’s really a showman. He likes to be in traffic, he likes to throw a lot of punches. He’s taking a lot of punches too, and I think in PFL, it’s going be really hard. I think he’s going to have some difficulties to adjust. I think he’s going to have to change his style a little bit.

The co-main event will see 2022 welterweight champion Sadibou Sy face Jarrah Al-Silawi. Sy defeated Dilano Taylor in the finals last year via unanimous decision. Al-Silawi has fought for BRAVE and joined the PFL in 2022. His last bout was a knockout loss against Magomed Umalatov in July.

Other fighters on the card include Natan Schulte, Clay Collard, and Magomed Magomedkerimov.
