Philadelphia Phillies vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction 7-18-23 MLB Picks

The Milwaukee Brewers and the Philadelphia Phillies meet Tuesday in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park. Milwaukee played the Reds over the weekend and managed a three-game sweep. As for the Phillies, they’re coming off three wins in four games over the Padres. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers played the Reds in their last set, winning 1-0, 3-0 and 4-3 for a three-game sweep. Milwaukee has played Cincinnati in each of their last six games, going 5-1 during that time for a 52-42 overall record currently.

For the starter job on Tuesday the Brewers will send out Julio Teheran. In his eight starts this year Teheran is 2-3 with a 3.64 ERA and 32 Ks in 47.0 innings. Teheran is 80-80 in his career with a 3.80 ERA in 248 games (244 starts).

Philadelphia Phillies

Over on the Phillies’ side, they lost to the Padres 8-3 back on Friday. Philadelphia won 6-4 and 9-4 in the Saturday doubleheader then took a 7-6 finale win to take the series, though. Starter Zack Wheeler put up 7.0 innings with three earned on five hits and zero walks on Sunday.

Aaron Nola will take the mound for the Phillies on Tuesday. Across his 19 starts so far this year Nola is 8-6 with a 4.39 ERA and 120 Ks in 119.0 innings. Nola is 86-68 with a 3.67 ERA in 222 career games.

The Brewers have hit the money line in 18 of their last 26 games and the under is 22 of their last 34 away games. Milwaukee has covered the run line in 10 of the last 15 games.

Meanwhile, the Phillies have hit the under is 39 of their last 76 and the money line in 26 of their last 36. Philly has hit the under is 25 of their last 41 at home.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll probably lean Phillies here. Also probably staying away from this one. Both starters could use a good showing on Tuesday. Nola had a good start versus Tampa Bay back on July 4 (7.1 innings; one earned) but in two of his last three starts he’s got 11.0 combined innings with eight earned runs. As for Teheran, he’s given up 13 earned runs in 11.2 combined innings on 16 hits and a walk in his last two games, going 0-1 in that pair. I don’t think either starter will post a terrible game here, but I’m probably not touching it.
