Value Scope: Each-way racing tips from Steve Jones for Aintree on Friday

It's Ladies Day at Aintree and our man fancies Pull Again Green in the novices' hurdle while hopes that No Looking Back can make it a rewarding day

Go on the Pull for Ladies’ Day at Aintree’s Grand National Meeting.

PULL AGAIN GREEN (2.20) developed into a smart novice hurdler last season and he just didn’t take to fences as well as expected in two tries over the larger obstacles this term.

He was given a breathing operation before his return from a four-month break at Kempton last month when the steady early pace was all against him.

The testing ground was also a negative and he was ridden wider than the rest of the field in search of slightly better conditions.

That effort should have done Fergal O’Brien’s hope the world of good and this big-field handicap will suit his style of racing. Have 1pt each-way at 20-1. Plenty of bookies are paying out on six places with Sky Bet stretching to seven.

NO LOOKING BACK (2.55) looks a bargain bet in the Poundland Top Novices’ Hurdle.

Some less than fluent jumping didn’t stop him winning on his hurdles debut at Thurles and he followed up by beating useful Brazil in a two-runner Limerick contest.

His brace of wins meant he had to give weight away all round in a Naas Grade 3 last month, so it was an excellent effort to push Irish Point hard in the closing stages.

The winner had good form with the likes of Supreme Novices’ Hurdle hero Marine Nationale and Ballymore third Champ Kiely going into the race. That made it a superb effort from No Looking Back.

There should be a decent early pace and that will help Oliver McKiernan’s novice as he is a strong stayer at this 2m trip. Have 1pt each-way at 16-1. Most bookies are going four places.
