2023 Corales Puntacana Championship odds, picks, field: PGA predictions from model that nailed 8 majors

The second additional field event of the PGA Tour season will take place this weekend with the 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic. Chad Ramey is aiming to become the first back-to-back winner of the tournament, but he is a 45-1 longshot in the latest 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship odds. Wyndham Clark is the 12-1 favorite on the PGA odds board, while Thomas Detry and Joel Dahmen are both 20-1. Taylor Pendrith (22-1) and Stephan Jaeger (22-1) are both considered 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship contenders as well.

Dahmen (2021), Brice Garnett (2018) and Dominic Bozzelli (2016) are each previous winners of this tournament who are in the 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship field. Should you be backing any of them with your 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship bets? Before locking in your 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship picks, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

SportsLine's proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up over $8,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure's model predicted Jon Rahm to finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions, the American Express and the Genesis Invitational. The model also included J.T. Poston in its best bets to win the 2022 John Deere Classic. That bet hit at +5500, and for the entire tournament, McClure's best bets returned almost $1,100. At the 2022 Masters, McClure's model was all over Scottie Scheffler's first career major championship victory heading into the weekend.

In addition, McClure's best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright at the 2021 Open Championship, even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. The model was also all over Rahm's (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner.

This same model has also nailed a whopping eight majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now that the 2023 Corales Puntacana field is locked, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.

Top 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship predictions

One major surprise the model is calling for at the Corales Puntacana Championship 2023: Dahmen, who is one of the top favorites on the PGA Tour odds board, stumbles this week and doesn't even crack the top 10. He has not finished inside the top 40 in six straight PGA Tour events, and he has not been inside the top 60 in four tournaments in a row.

Dahmen has missed the cut in two of his last four events, failing to finish under par in any of those tournaments. He had to withdraw from this tournament following the first round last season due to an illness. The competition this weekend might not be as strong as recent weeks, but the model still believes Dahmen is priced too short in the tournament odds.

Another surprise: Jaeger, a 22-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. Jaeger has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. He has been flying under the radar against strong fields in recent months, making the cut in nine of his last 10 tournaments.

Jaeger carded a top-30 finish at the Valspar Championship last weekend when he finished at even-par, which followed a 3-under-par finish at The Players Championship. He posted a top-10 at the Cadence Bank Houston Open in November and was in the top 15 at the Honda Classic in February, so he has been knocking on the door of a title. The open field sets up perfectly for him to break through with a win this weekend. See who else to pick here
