A ten race meeting has been assembled for Randwick on Saturday. Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is out eight metres from the 1600m-Winning Post; Out six metres for the remainder.

Race 1. (12:30) Drinkwise Plate 1100m

Back Me

9 Voile (Bet Now:$SP.00) is worth a throw at the stumps for mine. James Cummings trained filly that debuted in the Merson Cooper where she was very raw and new to the caper, being quite keen in the run and had nothing left for the straight behind impressive winner Eneeza. Tick over trial was a lovely piece of work, and she did trial up super prior to the debut so I think if they go silly in front, she can finish over the top.

Danger

3 Straight Charge (Bet Now:$SP.00) looks a very sharp colt for GaiBott and should prove hard to beat against these. He debuted earlier in the Spring in the Breeders Plate when on speed and giving a tremendous sight but couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by a good horse I think in Espionage. Given a break and he went like a jet when winning a recent trial. Lands near the front and will take beating.

Long Shot

7 Erno’s Cube (Bet Now:$SP.00) has been kept on ice for Maher/Eustace since a sharp win in the Max Lees on Hunter Day at Newcastle where she got into a dream spot near the speed before angling clear and she gapped them late for an impressive win. She looks a good type and will pose as a serious threat here I’d suggest, especially up to 1100m.

Race 2. (13:05) Kia Ora Prague (Bm78) 2400m

Back Me

4 First Light (Bet Now:$SP.00) has found winning form for Chris Waller and he can certainly go on with it now. The key to the last start win at Warwick Farm looked to be riding him cold. Tommy played the waiting game before building the revs on the turn, had full momentum and that is what won him the race. The depth here isn’t overly deep so for mine, he rates highly.

Danger

5 Auspicious Cloud (Bet Now:$SP.00) took a little while to find positive form but last start indicates she’s on track. That last start came at Warwick Farm when near the speed and was held up with something to offer before eventually getting clear and finding the line well to run a narrow second to First Light. Hard to beat back onto the bigger track.

Long Shot

7 I Am The Empire (Bet Now:$SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for Annabel Neasham. This guy attempted to lead throughout at Eagle Farm two weeks back and he did give a mini kick but I don’t think leading is his caper, tiring to finish fourth behind the in form Kureder. I reckon with a more conservative steer, a bunny to chase, he will be more effective and can certainly take this out.

Race 3. (13:40) Tab Highway Hcp (C3) 1600m

Back Me

5 Mazita (Bet Now:$SP.00) is putting together a pretty good record for Lyle Chandler. He has won his past two, winning over 1450m at Muswellbrook two back before going to the mile at Gosford where he handled the tight track comfortably and was impressive late the way he drew clear and maintained a margin. Very confident he’ll handle Highway grade and is the one to beat.

Danger

4 Sharp Shock (Bet Now:$SP.00) should take beating here for Rod Northam. This guy was beaten a lip in a Highway over the mile on Hunter Day before racing here two weeks back when racing over 1400m and he was very good late, charging home to run second to Mosgold. Like him back up to the mile and if he’s within range on the turn, I think he has the finale to win.

Long Shot

14 Discreet Lady (Bet Now:$SP.00) doesn’t win out of turn but she is a mare who is racing in just about career best form for Tom Higgins. Gave them a start and a beating when winning two back at Grafton before going to a Highway at Randwick two weeks back where she got a fair way out of her ground but didn’t mind the way she finished her race off behind Golden Decade. The win at Grafton was at the mile and she came back to 1400m last time so back up to 1600m, I think she’s in with a shout.

Race 4. (14:15) Midway (Bm72) 1200m

Back Me

7 Ningaloo Star (Bet Now:$SP.00) has been up a little while for John Sargent but she is flying. She was on speed in the Midway here a fortnight back and gave a tremendous sight in front but couldn’t quite finish it off, run down late by Terra Mater. She is seemingly holding her form really and should that continue here, she’ll be around the mark I am sure.

Danger

12 Mr Rock It (Bet Now:$SP.00) is a handy animal for Team Price that should prove hard to beat at this level. He resumed on the home deck at Kembla Grange when getting the sweet sit in transit behind the speed before angling towards clear and he got better as the race went on to win and win well. Improvement to come, he’s in the mix for sure.

Long Shot

Fitter and up to 1200m are two big ticks for 9 Super (Bet Now:$SP.00). Mick Minervini trained gelding that resumed under the lights at Canterbury where he paraded like he would need the run and that’s how it panned out when down the track behind Oxford Vision. Might want one more and a further rise in trip, but his is good enough to be around the mark and can pinch a first four spot.

Race 5. (14:50) Doyle's Breeding And Racing (Bm74) 1600m

Back Me

2 Clear Choice (Bet Now:$SP.00) is racing well for David Pfieffer and commands respect. Strong winner three back at Rosehill and has placed his next two, firstly at Canterbury under the lights when beaten a lip by Buillt. He then went to the Nowra Cup and ran a super race in defeat when third to Floating. I think he only has to hold his form and he’ll go close.

Danger

12 Matusalem (Bet Now:$SP.00) is heading in the right direction for Chris Waller. He has been kept on ice, having not raced since October 25 when a dominant winner on the Kenso over 1800m, beating them up with relative ease and that form has turned out to be strong with four winners coming from it. Tick over trial was good, he’ll be strong late and in form, he appeals.

Long Shot

11 Caring Lass (Bet Now:$SP.00) is a lightly raced mare for Matty Smith that is heading in the right direction. Just needed the run fresh at Hawkesbury before going to the mile at Canberra where she lapped up the heavy track and gave her rivals a spanking in a very sharp display. This race isn’t deep re depth so she doesn’t need to improve too much to be around the mark.

Race 6. (15:25) The Agency Real Estate (Bm78) 1200m

Back Me

8 Valiancy (Bet Now:$SP.00) is back on track. Maher/Eustace mare that was just a run when resuming on the Kenso before going to Rosehill a few weeks back where she she got into a nice spot near the speed and tried her guts out but simply didn’t have the finale of Legio Ten. Third up so she should be hard fit now and I think up to 1200m, she appeals as a key threat.

Danger

1 Miss Hellfire (Bet Now:$SP.00) should just about be ready to go re fitness given she is going into this third. Game third fresh at Rosehill before having a few weeks off and going to Warwick Farm where she just lacked that hard fitness but was still close up in defeat behind all the way winner Luvoir, who had it too good in front and was too good. Her best is clearly good enough.

Long Shot

5 Sonora (Bet Now:$SP.00) can run a much improved race. On paper, just a run when resuming at Warwick Farm and finishing down the track behind Luvoir but when you break down the race splits, she had no hope of getting involved. Hopefully with a more genuine tempo here, she can a much improved race. A win wouldn’t shock at all.

Race 7. (16:00) Precise Air (Bm88) 1100m

Back Me

8 Va Via (Bet Now:$SP.00) looks hard to beat against these. James Cummings trained mare that resumes, having not raced since the Mona Lisa on Wyong Cup Day in September when far from disgraced in defeat behind Mirra View. She does race very well on the fresh side and with a couple of nice trials under the belt, I think she’s ready to go and can launch over the top.

Danger

3 Fox Fighter (Bet Now:$SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for David Payne. He has been close up at Stakes level his past two, firstly in the Starlight behind Dragonstone before backing up a week later here in the Razor Sharp when far from disgraced in defeat behind Recommendation after sitting wide no cover. Little while between wins but I think he’s racing well enough to take this out.

Long Shot

9 Tristate (Bet Now:$SP.00) is a handy sprinter for Anthony Cummings that comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Golden Eagle Day at Rosehill when on speed and tiring late behind impressive winner Way To The Star, beaten over five lengths. He does seem a horse who races best on the fresh side and thought he moved well in a tick over trial. He can win without shocking.

Race 8. (16:40) Schweppes (Bm100) 1400m

Back Me

4 Waihaha Falls (Bet Now:$SP.00) looks ready to win and he strikes a very suitable race here IMO. He was off a freshen up when racing two weeks ago in the Razor Sharp and I think you can make a case to say he should have won, getting held up at various stages in the straight before eventually getting clear and finding the line pretty strongly behind Recommendation. Fitter, up to 1400m, think it all points to him.

Danger

9 Perfect Thought (Bet Now:$SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m. John Sargent trained four year old that resumed in the Razor Sharp a fortnight back and I thought he was far from disgraced in defeat behind Recommendation after getting a fair way out of his ground. He was never really a threat but stuck on well enough in defeat. Gets a much better set up this time around and can run a much improved race.

Long Shot

7 Fox Fighter (Bet Now:$SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for David Payne. He has been close up at Stakes level his past two, firstly in the Starlight behind Dragonstone before backing up a week later here in the Razor Sharp when far from disgraced in defeat behind Recommendation after sitting wide no cover. Little while between wins but I think he’s racing well enough to take this out, and I don’t see 1400m being an issue.

Race 9. (17:20) Vale Mr Alan 'Jock' Gollogly (Bm78) 1800m

Back Me

4 Aristonous (Bet Now:$SP.00) is a talented animal for Annabel Neasham and I think he’ll love the rise to 1800m. He resumed over the mile here two weeks ago and he was one of the eye catchers of the meeting I thought, closing off with real purpose the last 150m when third to Zoe’s Promise. Gets a much better set up this time around and if he can settle closer in the run, it could be a case of good luck beating him.

Danger

11 Bowery Breeze (Bet Now:$SP.00) is flying for Team Cave. Far from disgraced in a Midway on Gong Day at Kembla before going to 1400m on the Kenso when given a peach by Collett from the inside gate and in a driving finish, she was too good. She’s had two runs at 1400m now so the rise to 1800m suits and off a win, she commands respect.

Long Shot

2 Promitto (Bet Now:$SP.00) is capable with his best. He ran in the Zoe’s Promise race from two weeks back where he seemingly had every chance from near the speed but didn’t finish the race off at all in a somewhat plain finale. He has run well at this distance range previously and with his best, he is more than capable of taking this out.

Race 10. (17:55) Tab (Bm78) 1300m

Back Me

18 Valiancy (Bet Now:$SP.00) is back on track. Maher/Eustace mare that was just a run when resuming on the Kenso before going to Rosehill a few weeks back where she she got into a nice spot near the speed and tried her guts out but simply didn’t have the finale of Legio Ten. Third up so she should be hard fit now and I think up to 1300m, she appeals as a key threat.

Danger

3 Robusto (Bet Now:$SP.00) is seemingly knocking on the door for Chris Waller. Five weeks between runs since racing over this trip at Caulfield where he seemingly had every chance under J Mac but couldn’t quite finish it off and just didn’t attack the line when third to So Risque. He’s teasing to win but at the same time has been frustrating to follow. That said, he finds a very winnable race here.

Long Shot

17 Sonora (Bet Now:$SP.00) can run a much improved race. On paper, just a run when resuming at Warwick Farm and finishing down the track behind Luvoir but when you break down the race splits, she had no hope of getting involved. Hopefully with a more genuine tempo here, she can a much improved race. A win wouldn’t shock at all.
