Best PGA DFS Picks & Top DraftKings Plays For Wyndham Championship

It’s do-or-die time for players looking to get into the FedEx Cup Playoffs, as the and DFS picks action continues to heat up at this week’s Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina.

This is the final tournament of the season before the playoffs get underway, with the top 70 players in the standings qualifying for next week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Justin Thomas is currently on the outside looking in, sitting at No. 79 amid a stunning year-long slump that could see him miss the playoffs for the first time after never finishing worse than No. 32 in the standings.

He needs a top-20 at the least to have a chance to qualify for next week, and he enters Sedgefield Country Club with a modest $9,100 price tag.

Sungjae Im is the betting favorite and highest-priced player at $10,800 on the – Hideki Matsuyma is second on the board at $10,600 while Russell Henley ($10,200) and Sam Burns ($10,000) round out the top four.

2023 Wyndham Championship DFS Picks By Price

11K-9K Range

Russell Henley, $10,200: You hate the idea of paying over 10K for Henley, but you have to love what he’s done at this tournament. Henley has three straight top-10 finishes at the Wyndham Championship, improving in each of the past three years going T-9, T-7, and T-5 from 2020-2022. He missed the British Open cut in his last start thanks to an ice-cold putter, but prior to that, he ripped off eight top-20s in nine events. This is one of the few courses on Tour where Henley’s accuracy off the tee is such a big advantage and his lack of pop doesn’t really matter.

He’s qualified for the second round of the playoffs in each of the past three seasons, but he hasn’t made the Tour Championship since 2017. At 34 in the FedEx standings, this is a great week to get himself on the right side of the East Lake bubble entering the postseason

Si Woo Kim, $9,000: Kim has clearly put a ton of focus on finding more fairways this season. He’s 12 on Tour in driving accuracy, and that’s a massive positive this week at a course where Kim has already had tons of success. The 28-year-old has four top-10s and a win in just seven starts at Sedgefield, and he’ll be well-rested with just two starts since the U.S. Open. We like Kim to make another serious charge here, and he could win with a little cooperation from the flat stick.

9K-8K Range

Denny McCarthy, $8,700: McCarthy had a truly awful week with the irons his last time out at the British Open, finishing dead last in Strokes Gained Approach to miss the cut by a mile. That was highly uncharacteristic and we’re not too concerned, especially since he ripped off three top-10s last month – solo second at the Memorial, T-7 at the Travelers, and T-6 at the John Deere. McCarthy keeps it straight with the driver and makes a ton of putts, and that’s always a winning combo at Sedgefield.

Adam Hadwin, $8,000: The Canadian is coming off back-to-back missed cuts at the John Deere Classic and 3M Open, but we like him to get back on track this week. Hadwin finished T-2 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic earlier this month and there’s not a lot of pressure at Sedgefield – he’s comfortably inside the top 70 at No. 39 and can improve his Tour Championship chances going into the playoffs with a solid showing in Greensboro.

8K-7K Range

Mark Hubbard, $7,500: We’re looking at another veteran in this spot with Hubbard, who’s been extremely hot and cold of late. Over his last six starts, he has three top-10s and three missed cuts, and we’re expecting another strong result this week. The putter has been on fire all summer, he keeps it in play off the tee and he’s made four straight cuts in this tournament, shooting even par or better in all 16 rounds. He’s a great pickup in the mid-range.

Brendon Todd, $7,400: Todd has made nine cuts in his last 11 starts, a stretch that includes a T-2 at the John Deere Classic and a T-8 at the Wells Fargo Championship. He’s one of the shortest hitters on Tour and that eliminates him from contention many weeks. Not this one. Todd keeps it in the fairway and has a tremendous short game and that’s what we’re looking for. He has missed the cut five times here, but he was T-36 last year and T-10 in 2021.

7K and Below

Dylan Wu, $6,900: Wu put out of his mind en route to a T-5 finish at last week’s 3M Open. He’s proven capable of getting hot on the greens at multiple points throughout the season, racking up seven top-25s on the year. The 27-year-old needs a massive week to get inside the top 70 in the FedEx standings, and we like him to carry some of that momentum over from Minnesota. It’s slim pickings further down the board this week, but we’ll take a shot on Wu and hope he makes it rain on the greens once more.

Doc Redman, $6,800: It’s been a brutal summer for Redman, but we’ve seen a glimmer of hope down the stretch. He made the cut in each of his last two stroke play events, finishing T-30 at the 3M Open and T-9 at the Barbasol Championship. The iron play is much improved and he’s an above-average putter, which gives him a chance at a course where he finished T-21 last year and T-3 in 2020. He’s worth a shot again if you need someone on the cheap.
