F1 Qatar Grand Prix predictions, odds, betting tips, best bets for 2023 race

As the Formula One action returns to Qatar in 2023, Red Bull's Max Verstappen goes in search of securing his third consecutive World Drivers' Championship title.

With the opportunity to score extra points in the fourth sprint race of the season, the Dutchman has ample time to grab the amount needed to secure top spot in the drivers' standings after a truly dominant showing throughout the season.

That said, there are plenty of other drivers and teams that could trouble Verstappen this weekend, not least so McLaren who saw both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri finish on the podium last time out in Japan.

Mercedes also seem to be continuously improving their car recently, whilst Ferrari have flexed their muscles of late and still maintain the title of being the only other team to have scored a win this season alongside Red Bull.

Ahead of the action, The Sporting News dives through all of the odds to give you the best bets and tips for the upcoming race.

F1 Qatar Grand Prix 2023: Best bet

  • Pick: Sergio Perez to finish on the podium
  • Odds: -130 (BetMGM)

It's proven to be a pretty miserable season of late for Red Bull's Sergio Perez who has been outshone by his teammate at every opportunity.

That said, we're backing him to have a better weekend here around a circuit which should definitely suit his Red Bull car thanks to its blend of straight line speed and the sheer downforce it possesses.

Granted, the Mexican suffered a DNF finish due to a horribly mistimed lunge down the side of Magnussen at Suzuka last time out, but he had finished P2 in two of the four prior races.

F1 Qatar Grand Prix 2023: Flier bet

  • Pick: George Russell to record the fastest lap
  • Odds: +1200 (BetMGM)

As we've seen in recent races, it hasn't always necessarily been Verstappen who has claimed the extra point for recording the fastest lap.

In fact, if you take out the last race in Japan, the Red Bull star hasn't taken the extra point in the prior four races and as such, the odds in this market remain really high considering.

This time, we're going to back Russell to complete the task for Mercedes who seemingly have a good car and set up for Qatar which should benefit his chances here.
